Hi I was thinking about donating and becoming a constellation member. I don't have a paypal account so I'm looking at mailing. I'm wondering which of these methods are acceptable.

1.) Cash
2.) Check
3.) Money Order

I don't really want to send cash and would perfer not to send a check. So what I'm really asking is if a Money Order would be good, or any other method aside from the previously mentioned and paypal. Thanks.

Sure, you can send a money order if you like. Just make sure to give me your account name when you donate so I can grant you your icon.

Wow Flayra responded and quickly. I would've thought that a mod or somebody would've gotten to it. Surprising that the "head-hauncho" would respond to something as trivial as this within a minute or so. Thanks.

Flayra's directly responsible for CM donations, it's one of his main sources of income at the moment so it's far from trivial. He has been activly posting lately however. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I'd like to donate, but I honestly don't trust paypal with my information and everything else I do is electronic.

Will you be having a way to pay with a credit card soon? I want to donate, but need a different method to do it.

I used money order and got in just fine. It's easy: go to a place like a supermarket or Western Union, get a money order for +20$ and mail it in. You should be in the system within a week or two, if it's not even faster than that. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Paypal is basically credit card over the internet really. It's actually very simple, and you can trust it. I've used it myself several times. (I used it for when I donated.)

I could also just send in a cashier's check for it, but it's such an archaic way to pay. I'm just wondering if there's a way to pay with credit or debit cards?

    I'm all about instant gratification. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Unfortunately, I know a little more about PayPal from behind the scenes. They've had some fairly serious security breaches in the past, and I'm not willing to trust them.

It's exactly the same reason I didn't trust MS' Passport. (And we all know what happened with that one)

I have friends who use it exclusively for e-bay trading, but it's like working in a slaughterhouse. When you see how the meat is processed, you just try to avoid it.

I use debit cards exclusivly on PayPal. Although, I get my debit card -through- mastercard, so the person I'm buying from can't actually tell the difference between it and a credit card... it's just that the money is taken directly from my checking account instead of me being billed for it later with interest.

If yours is like that, you should have no problems at all.

Exactly true, I have used it many times and it has always came through, it has gained my trust very well.

I would like to add that sending cash through the mail can be very risky. If you do decide to do that, put the bills in a book or something like that to hide it - tape the bills to an inside cover.

Also; PayPal accepts debit cards, and I guarantee you it's as safe as any bank.

What priviledges will constellation members have after the final version comes out. By that time, theres nothing to beta test so i no longer see a point in donating <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->.

Most (bar the new influx I guess..) didn't donate for play-testing, we donated to give something back..

The problem we have here, in this part of the world (South Africa) is that PayPal does not have an option for us... Is there no way we can do a direct transfer to an account? Sending a letter from here to USA is a bit.... Plus i dont think we have the cash card thingies either.

Donate for whatever reason you'd like, but know that you're contributing to the development of a great mod and allowing future development of games by the developer.

It's ok to have a "what's in it for me" attitude, but mainly, you do it because you're a nice guy/gal.
