Critizism points where:
-The back
-The front
-The facial area
-Some small stuff
So I got off my butt and haxed ona new back, modifed the front armor and went back to the gasmask facial design, with some changes. Main changes are front and back, though, plus some minor smoothing fixes and such.
Oh, and I reworked the muzzle flash positioning and scripting inside the models.

the model looks good too, but maybe add some stuff to the guy, ammo packs and stuff?

couple tips probably already mentioned here
-add a couple ammo packs and stuff to him
-add a tube or two heading from the gas mask to the backpack
The model looks a bit too simple. Soldiers need at the very least a small amount of supplies. Im not sure on your poly count, but i think a few poly's here and there could add to the look without increasing too much overhead (mainly in the mask). This might not be in the poly's, but in the skin (as you've said, you aren't skinnly-blessed <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->) so a wire overlay would definately help out.
On a different note, from what I can see, Jin-Roh seems to carry alot of WWII inspirations, while Killzone (tho not the same but inspired by?) has a more present inspired future. I think the best example is the difference between the helmets. Jin-Roh (your's) has the WW stamped helmet design with the flare at the bottom. Killzone has a more current US military inspired helmet. I think a meld between the two could result in something quite amazing, if you consider a V3.
Sorry for not being quite so brushed up on this Jin-Roh and Killzone thing, but my limited viewing of what references I could find led me to my final opinion.
In any event, keep up the good work.

-Added that stuff from the gasmask to the back (It was really naughty to find a position where animations didn't clip too horrible...)
-Added magazin pockets (Maybe too small adn wrongly placed, dunno, I'm tired...)

don't know it the gas mask stuff will fit the final LA model, but imo you need something more than the color to tell, if it's LA or HA <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

maybe give him an ammo belt instead or something to beef him up around the waste cause that area is looking plain atm.
