Using Ns Textures In Other Games

<div class="IPBDescription">am i allowed</div> i just found a new mod called zombie panic. however i am displeased with the maps for it. i would love to release a version of my co map for it. but i would have to use NS textures for it. is that allowed. or would i have to start from scratch?


I searched but did not find a definative answer.

    Its other mod :/ NOT NS i cant use it textures made for NS in other mod (only if creators of the mod let you). Sorry i think you should make textures your self.

    Since NS isnt porting to HL2 (AFAIK) will someone be allowed to use the original NS textures and make super good looking versions of them for use in a map?

    Cory "SquealLikeAPig" Strader made the NS textures and artwork, however as it says in the FAQ, they are for NS use ONLY.

    You can use dod textures in cs because they are both owned by valve.

    It's all copyrighted material, so without the authers concent you cannoy use them.

    Quite a few of the NS textures (most of the popular ones) were taken from a site called shaderlab. I just checked that site, and it appears to be broken. But you might be able to search around for the shaderlab texture packs and find the textures in their separate tga's and just make your own packfile to use in another mod.

    A few of the textures used in ns_bast.wad such as the spacesuit image are from Shaderlab; ns.wad and ns2.wad are all original IP including "most of the popular ones".
