<div class="IPBDescription">It's here</div> I bought halflife 2 off gpstore.com.au two days ago.

It is in my hands now.

I thought i wouldn't get it today because when I came home from school it wasn't there. But some time between the crying and fits of jealous rage, some sneaky deliveryman slipped it next to my front door.

I am holding it in my hands.

    Last time i pre-order any game...

    Still don't have it.
    I could handle it if they didn't take my World of Warcrack away. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Killing off WoW hurts, even though I have HL2. I feel your pain, Birdy.

    what is this... half-life 2... of which you speak?
  • CronosCronos Join Date: 2002-10-18 Member: 1542Members
    I believe that the pain of losing WoW is equatable with the Blood Elves being cut off from the sunwell. <i>PAINFUL</i>.

    Hopefully I'll get my HL2 once I've had a word with my brother <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Oh my god. Halflife 2 is amazing.

    However, I hate zombies and I think ravenholm will be a nightmare for me <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> I need company, it's lonely and scary by myself....

    ravenholm scared me a little but annoyed me more... those speedy zombies are a pain to hit <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Going to have it when I get back home, only another hour at college.

    Ravenholm was fun, except for the nigh-endless respawning sequence combined with that 'push the lever then hop on the platform' pseudoriddle. And the fact that all the speedzombies took about 2-3 shotgunshells each, due to the fact that even during headshots their crabs would live.

    The coolest part though was when I actually got hit by surprise right at the start of Ravenholm, because I was zooming in in awe on the opening scene.

    Ravenholm is great. It wasn't *that* scary, though I will admit it made me jump on quite a few occasions. I'm on Highway 17 now, which kinda pales in comparision to Ravenholm :/

    I'm on Highway 17 aswell and I have to say it's one of my favourite levels now, along with the boat level, and the part where I get the Manipulator. Ravenholm was easy, I just shot the zombies as they were coming up the pipe.

    I finished the game yesterday.
    If you already played Doom3, hl2 zombies looks like teddy bears.

    *WARNING, don't read the following paragraph if you didn't finished the game already*

    The storyline is excellent, until you finish the game. It is the most frustrating end I've seen until Monty Python and the Holy Grail movie. I know, people will say that these kind of endings are cool cauz it is like in the matrix revolutions movie or "insertmoviethathasstupidendingtitlehere", I say it makes you feel like you've made your way through all the levels for absolutely nothing. Anyway, that's my opinion.

    *Ok, you can continue reading now*
    But HL2 is still the best game I've ever seen and I can't wat to play all the mods that will come out for this game.

    I was amazed by the number of buzzsaw blades lying around. In Ravenholm, they don't lay flowers on people's graves; they lay great dirty discs of jagged metal.

    Highway 17 is just the lull so you can calm down over Ravenholm. Another awesome bit's coming up for you after H17.

    my opinions are like the opposites of everyone's on everything regarding this game =P

    *kinda spoilers, not plot related*

    I was annoyed by ravenholm, sick of all the rusty crap and predictable zombies everywhere... and brother what's-his-name mocking me, reminding me it's not over yet...

    but highway 17, I enjoyed... various clusters of houses, each with different surprises... only time I was truly scared in the game so far was that one house with nothing in it, til you get up to the top floor and those electric balls fall through the roof out of the blue... and the sequence under the bridge was pretty exciting...

    Yeh i got HL2 on Wednesday but due to a fibre being cut at our work i was there till gone 1am - so i only got to play it yesterday and .......

    <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif' /><!--endemo--> WOW <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Its certainly living up to its name so far, well worth the wait, yummy yummy physics, i played in that derelict park with all the swings and see saw... wow wow wow wow wow - love it, ty very much valve - your game is worth every penny and some!

    What im waiting for now is the mod developers like ns, svencoop, tfc, sci&ind, dod, firearms, etc, etc to catch up - ns is my fave mod and my mind is doing overtime at what the future holds for the mod....whatever the outcome, rest assured, running the hl2 engine, it will ROCK YOUR WORLD...every been a scared marine? Creepy hives etc....You havent seen nothing yet, i should imagine with the effects engine and physics, ns for hl2 will be the scariest mod on the hl2 mod scene.

    I have mapped for ns a loooooong time ago and its been a while since i peeked at wc or hammer as its now known, i think when ns for hl2 is available i shall be getting back into mapping - providing i can tear myself away from the game! <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Now my only problem is - do i play hl2? or ns? you think no contest - hl2!! arrrr well i miss the online gaming of ns, its nice to play as a team as apposed to playing on your own(hl2) ...

    whatever the outcome - if you havent got hl2 - go and buy it now! Your missing out on some fantastic stuff otherwise...

    Have fun and stay frosty!

    Gah.. Is anybody else's HL2/CS:S constantly laggy? Especially in the riverboat part, but in just normal combat it's laggy too. CS:S is constantly laggy.

    I'm updating my radeon 9800 pro drivers now, but is this a technical issue or is my computer not good enough? I tone the graphics down but it doesn't seem to help.

    My fps is around 30, by the way, in HL2.

    Specs:

    AMD ATHLON XP 2400+
    512 mb ram
    radeon 9800 pro 128mb
