The Official Half-life 2 Countdown Thread
<div class="IPBDescription">Its official because I made it</div> Rather than have a million threads about the HL2 launch, I have taken it upon myself (nice of me I know) to make THE official half-life 2 countdown thread. To that effect:

There is also a version for your <a href='http://www.dsv.su.se/~fre-lars/half-life_2_countdown.rar' target='_blank'>desktop</a>, although it probably isn't worth downloading (I did) seeing as there are LESS THAN TWO DAYS until HL2 is out.
You may have seen other threads claiming to be the official HL2 post. They are wrong. This is the only true HL2 post, all others are illusions perpetrated by the communazi war machine.
I do have a question though, to start the thread off. IIRC, the release date is 00.01PST on Tuesday. How much different is PST from GMT? I need to know because either way it'll probably mean an early morning for me, to get an hour or so of gaming in before my first lecture (which I really can't afford to miss).
Second order of business is to point out that the timer above seems to work based on your system clock time, NOT on when the game is actually released, hence I will be setting my clock to PST until the game's release <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Oh... I just answered my own question while changing my clock, GMT is 8 hours ahead of PST, hence HL2 will be release at 8 o'clock in the morning in Great Britain. That is a pain in the arse since it leaves me with no time to actually play between the release, and my lecture. Oh well, i'll probably be skipping my afternoon lectures that day, so i'll only have to endure 3 hours without HL2 <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Smart idea. I would not be able to that though. As soon as I get everything done that I need to I'll probably be on the PC for a good few hours straight each night.

I wouldn't be able to do so either - I've forced myself to give a friend of my my laptop during the week, and I've given him Halo 2 (7 days a week) and plan on doing the same with HL2.

Not really. It's about 1am now, but HL2 isn't unlocked for us until 8am. That's 31 hours, sadly.

As I am in EST (3 hrs ahead) HL2 will be released at 3AM
however I have to be at work from 9-5 tomorow.
