What To Do When You've Lost

One of the most frustrating things in NS is that slow death when you know your team is going to lose. I find myself leaving servers and joining another game, but i dont want to do this so my question is what do you do to keep yourself busy when you know the game is already lost.

I.e. when the marines are level 3 HA and aliens have 1 hive, or rines have no hives and no res and aliens are already on onos fade.

As marine.... Make an ip for everyone on the team.... zergling rush... u cna hold base for hours.... (get full upgrades) hand out weapons, not HA, as onos will just eat them.... can be quite fun....

Aliens: No freaking fun anywhere.... I usually F4...

Or get a bunch of ppl to gorge on top of the hive and spit the **** out of the marines... that can be quite hilarious......

If Fade at the time i'll either, depending on the situation. Try to defend the hive against all Marines and despertly hold them back. Or, as yesterday on Hera showed which every spot nearly had a gigantic TF Farm, I would constantly harrass their base and try to kill the armory to keep HMG's out.

is this about pubs only?

if im pub comming and I am certain theres no comeback in sight, i will ask if anyone wants to comm for practice, and get out. I dont prolong games, ending either way.

as aliens i like fighting till the end, no matter how bad it is

I usually build a massive turret farm in marine start, and prolong the pain so that the entire server can be bored for 10-20 minutes...

I gonna try to change it so that my team wins until the end but mostly it doesn't work. The thought of that I gave it a try is good to me hehe =)

as marine, i try to find a sympathetic fade and start being its friend.

or if they dont have sc, i hide somwhere (with an hmg)

as alien i try and parasite as many marines as possible.

As aliens get the entire team togather and rush MS then everyone simultaneously gorge egg in the marine start. : ) Always good for some laughs.

Sell everything and buy as many IPs as you can. Bonus points if you have more IPs than players. Tell your marines that if they want more ammo, they have to die fighting and spawn with it.

Mines galore: Sell everything but IPs and armory. Spend it all on mines. Watch the boom when a gorge or acid rocket fade comes along. Laugh at the onos who blows himself up. Since your res is wasted, it ends faster.

But the sell everything and buy weapons plan is an okay alternative.

When it comes to the kharaa, there isn't much you can do. Losing is really boring for them. Tell the marines to hurry up. If needed, give them an ultamatem (if you don't end it within 5 minutes, we'll f4 and no sweet hive pop). It's rude to just f4 without warning.

When I'm a marine and we are losing horribly, I will try and ninja my way out of base. If I can unload my ammo into a hive before they get me, I win.

Depends on the most part i mess as an alien i go build a hidy hole or as a marine see who i can knife

but if not and i thinck i can still win i go for as many kills as poss but messing about is kinda fun but i do hate it when it takes ages to die

Build a dc (hopefully a mc is still alive.), have silence and regen and hide in the last place they'll look. Worth a ton of laughs (from the aliens) if done right. Had 4 JPs + HMGs fly right past me.

I know many people don't like gorge hideouts, but I don't do it till I know for sure that the aliens will lose.(ie marine have 6+ rts, HA/JP and 2 hives)

As commander when the fight is brought to Marine Start, I save up cash and recycle unneeded structures(and even the IPs) and start using distress beacon untill I run out of rp. Then we die ^_^

If you know the server admin, or FF is on. COnvinve the marines to let you have Dog fights with them making a circle aorund each fighting dog spamming hte insult key.

Make a gorgy hidout. ITS SOO FUNNY!!! Normally when we start to lose I spend most of my time killing. So when it comes down to "we are SOOOOO boned", I go off to the BEST place to defend and lame it up with 3 defence and 2 offence chambers (and if I have the res and ability, movment and or sence). The place I go to usually can only be gotten to by jp. Im choosy casue I dont go to places that marines can seige or grenade from the outside.

As marine.............I just start chatin on how we should just get along or try to pet an Onos <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tiny.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tiny.gif' /> <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /> .
