Looks like this is the beginning of the end. It looks like no new llama-whipping versions will be released.

Oh well, Winamp still has a few more years left in it as a program at least, and I'm sure community support for it will continue long after.

Definately. Damned it be if they don't suddenly go "Oh, sorry, I accidently posted the URL on the main webpage instead of e-mailing it to you for the Source code, Mr. AOL. Too bad."- suddenly, Winamp gets 3 kajillion mods, and finally a official "accepted" team.
Source code plzkthx?
bought by AOL? hahah what the heck is going on with the internet man
all these big boys are buying up all the good resources on the internet and then start adding fee's to them, i hope they understand that no ones gonna pay for software like winamp
I don't know why, but some people are doing it.
Well it's ok if you like it and want to support the poor man behind the tool.

I don't know where you got that from. I was using v2 up until a few weeks ago. I decided it was probably time to upgrade so I installed version 5 over the top and it worked like a charm.
The interface is nice and simple too, but who needs the interface when you can have it sitting in the system tray and control it with your keyboard.
Goodbye Winamp team. I never knew you, probably better that way. Lets hope you still have your towels.
Kudos for a ref.

He tried looking for the key to load his playlist and decided it was crap.
I would want to work on something else too.

But then again, my ears couldn't distinguish between cassette player, Cd player, or Mp3 player, or any soundcards.
It was pretty messed up when I got my hands on it. But I'm for guessing they ironed out all the bugs.
