unheard of, but very good
I haven’t really heard too much about this game, but it looked very interesting. It turns out to be a rather fun, if not incredibly complex space combat game. It’s the best space combat game I've seen since Homeworld. If you haven’t heard of it, I'd suggest you check it out, and download the multiplayer demo at http://www.nexusthegame.com/.

Nexus the game? It must be pretty stupid then! Rolling on the ladders. But this game definately looks awesome, I don't know what is is about space combat... but it usually always rules.

Yeah, read a preview in PC Gamer. Let's hope it's Homeworld quality, i.e. amazing.

It’s getting to be pretty rare to see a game that has decent gameplay, and actually has an interesting and original sci-fi plot.

It also has an amazingly in depth, fully 3-D interactive map of the solar system, and although I only know of the Sol system, presumably the whole galaxy and other systems.

At first, I'd admit, I was a little put off by its complexity, and apparent lack of a tutorial, but fortunately it is all built into the campaign. Things can get a little hectic trying to manage power between all your ships, but it’s a blast.

Shot: ahhh, too much going on at once!
Arg, all the qaulity was lost in having to shrink it to fit the 120k limit.

Looks cool, hope it works under Wine/Cedega though. If not, I'll have to reboot into Windows earlier than the HL2 release date (since AFAIK it doesn't work in Linux yet). Oh, and the name is terrible. I read it as "Nexus: The Bobbrick Sheppson Incident" and stuff like that. Hell, I only came in this tread because it looked like it was about Nexus, not some cool looking game

Kinda reminds me of... Freespace 2, I think. Which is a good thing - that was a good game, I think. This one looks to be a bit more complex, but that might prove to be interesting... -er.

tried the demo, was entirely put off by the lack of tutorial. Played till I died. because the shield wouldn't stay up since a disabled enemy ship was within it... or something like that.

Nexus: Jupiter Incident aka Imperium Galactica 3... Man I loved IG2. And still do! What I've read from reviews etc. this is more of total war style game instead of the good old build-n-rush games. Might be worth of looking at though, pretty graphics, spaceships, lasers... Do I need to say more?
