I guess it's time for a little begging. The model is, as far as i can see it, finished. The smoothing groups are far from perfect, but not actually causing anything too ugly really. So yeah, i need someone to skinmesh this. If anyone feels up to the job, PM me and i'll send you the model.
As far as a skinmesh goes, i'm looking to have it on about 2-3 512x512 meshes to keep the skin fairly high res and crisp, but i'm a pretty crappy skinmesher. I'm gonna have a crack at it, but i really doubt i'd come up with that good a mesh really.
<s>A slight warning about the mesh. Due to stupidity at an earlier stage, i accidently saved a render version over my work in progress version, meaning all the seperate objects for a lot of it (front parts, foregrip, main body, etc etc) were knocked down to a single object, which is annoying, it shouldn't be much of a problem, but personally, when meshing, i prefer to have as many seperate objects to work with as possible.</s> I apparently forgot about detatch. Dude....this thing has no barrel I kno that but some guns that I have seen have used some kind of impliment to use the thingies ontop and around where the barrel is as a way to shoot some kind of plasma ray or laser beam o.0

You can just make a muzzleflash with some of the SpecOps 2 phasegate sprites (those lil ball things that float up) and use that as a muzzleflash at highspeeds. As for the clip, WHAT ARE YOU SMOKING?! Lazer guns or plasma weapons have NEVER had infinite power (unless you impliment the godmode cheet that is hehehe <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> ) so yah there can be a clip, just make it all glowy and red when it comes out and blue when it goes in.

ARR. anyway, i would hate to see this gun turn into a laser gun, just pure ruins the atmosphere since no other gun in NS uses beams light as ammunition. that and it wouldnt make sense shooting organic material with lasers.
