    Barrels... cool... would be cool if you could pick up the bodies, too. Anyways, heres the other mod...

    Use the grav gun to set up objects and terrain, design it, explosives included. When your finished, press a button to kill the ragdoll anywhere in the map, and the one with the coolest ragdoll death wins.

    I have an awesome mod concept, I have actually been writing it up for a while. Its basically Commandos 2 in FPS form with a few adjustements to fit this new format. If anyone has played Commandos 2, they know what I'm talking about.

    Or you could just replace the grav gun with a pair of hands and limited range, make the barrels balls, and have the game inside gyms. Same difference. ;p

    Every bullet fired is the equivalent of an explosive of some sort. I.E., machineguns would shoot bullets that have a grenade's power, pistols would shoot bullets that explode like a block of C4, and actual grenades and rockets are like thermonuclear devices. And then there's a spoon. You can throw the spoon, and when it lands, it causes a supernova, killing eeryone without something I like to call a "spoongard". The entire point of the mod would be to kill stuff. Oh, and it would have giant robots for planes, hovercrafts for cars, and.....PIRATE SHIPS for boats. And everyone would be a ninja. Except instead of swords, they'd have lightsabers.

    I'm serious, people. I have a modeler, and a coder, so something JUST MIGHT POSSIBLY THINK about MAYBE having a POSSIBILITY of coming out of this idea.

    No, I just had a brilliant idea. There will be two teams: Coalition (or Counterterrorists) and Opposing Force (or Terrorists) and they will have realistic guns and gun physics. Combat will take place in a variety of locations and will be squad based with a large emphasis on teamwork. Visceral action will abound, and there will probably be controllable vehicles on some maps. Weapons and players will be true to real life, and we're keeping gameply realistic to a large extent but not to the point of wiping out fun. We're going for a "nitty gritty" feel.

    And I've just described every third HL2 mod that has ever been announced.

    2 teams in airborne (or possibly spaceborne?) ships face off. Teams have a few capital ships and a number of fighters, dropships, tankers, ect. Object is to either take over or destroy the other team, while keeping your own fleet supplied. If your fleet cant keep the 3 basic supplies flowing, you'll lose. You spawn as a soldier: armed with normal soldier weapons. you can pilot any vehicle except the capital ships, they require a crew to man (hopefully to stop the infamous "Battlefield 1942 Idiot-sent-the-spawn-outside-the-map" problem)
    If you get onboard an enemy ship and get to the bridge, you can take it over and use it's firepower/stragitic value to use against the enemy. Or you could just blow it up. Prefer Covert ops to just weiging down the craft with 6000 tons of lead? Take explosives in and blow the engines, or structial members, or just go around sabotoging things.

    Fuel: Without fuel, your ships will fall from the sky. the Capital ships consume quite a bit of fuel, resupply is a hazardous mission, fuel tankers explode like a roman candle when hit with hot lead, but the speed makes up for it.

    Food: An army lives on it's stomach. No food and your crew will die off, leaving your levithan of the sky a derelict, ripe for the picking. Food's delivered in cargo freighters. Slow, but heavily armored, good idea to protect em

    Soldiers: Your men at arms, spawn at the main base (possibly floating too) or one of the bigger capital ships, destroy the enemy's forces, and you have no enemy


    I even had some ship classes thought up

    1 SteamPunk: Victorian Era technology: big fans, exposed belts, Blimps, Biplanes, tommy guns and 1911s

    2 Futuristic: Advanced, from our prospective: Turbines, Computers, antigravity systems, Harriers, G36Cs and p99s

    More like 90% of them. Friggin Counter Suck, warping the minds of todays gamers... Even the NS community has been drawn into CS:S... I shal never touch anything that has counter and strike in the name...

    What i thought of last night, will never happen, but hey, that's life...

    A point n click adventure, in Source. It would work on static camera angles and an intuitive radial mouse menu. Take a look at how Grim Fandango or Monkey Island 4 worked, now remove the apalling control system and replace it with a good old fashioned point and click interface. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    I know for a fact this would be entirely possible in the Source engine, NS gave me all the proof i need that a mouse pointer driven interface is possible to implement into a fps game.     Been up for about two or three weeks. Remake Turok 2's Port of Adia in Source Engine, and yes its legal since the rights to Turok are owned by no one. You guys should already know about it though.

    If I were to make a mod, it would need to be relatively simple; something like a sci-fi-ish deathmatch mod with features and gameplay similar to The Specialists (my all-time favorite DM experience). I'm leaning towards doing something in the Ghost In The Shell universe, although I bet someone would sue me for something. Meh. Using a predefined universe would end up being too limiting anyway.
