    its even more fun when the comm wp's yourself because u refused to build that tf in the hive room when the rt was already elecced and u noticed theres no armor1 yet. or something similar.

    i dunno if its still possible, used to be a pain some time ago though.

    Back on topic.. its fairly easy to crush onos... provided you realize there is a delay from hitting the button to when it "closes" or "opens" or "raises" or "lowers"

    Fun ****... hive assault on biodome... crush 2 out of 3 onos in the elevator... hehe

    or in Nancy... crushing gorges and fades in the door by port engine room....



    Actually had a comm once rapid fire open/close that door on nancy (by port engine) on a hive assault..... russian roulette style... like 3 of us made it through... funny funny... :-P

    Well it might not be as evident as it seems. I think I recall on 1.0x that the manual said click on the switch (or the help, I'm not sure) so of course... you click on the switch. Now give a GOOD reason as to why it is so evident so I can mock our friend here too, because I frankly don't see this function used enough in games.
    And for the useful bit, yes you can use them. Click on the door/elevator itself to activate it. You might not see the door from a top-down view, but click on its location anyway. Note that if the door is opened, you have to "predict" where the door is, ie. in the ceiling or in the walls, and click there instead.

    Crushing an alien is exactly the same as with any other form, this isn't a special function of the comm. Not all doors crush aliens, but if it can crush one it will work with all alien forms, marine forms, or commander activated.

    I try and get door kills as a Marine while running away. I often trap my team on the other side of the door with a rampaging Onos when I try to shut it.

    99/100 times it fails and I die rather than my target.

    I'm usually too pre-occupied with getting upgrades, dropping rt's, meds and ammo to be waiting at a door for a Fade/Onos to walk through.

    (No, I do not condone waiting by a door until an onos appears though... There's a compromise position)

    There is an unwanted tactic ns_tanith reloc to double res, you wait for onos when he comes to old base let him bump your res some, let him feel comfortably give one or two HMGS now becon and spawn armory in entrens where onos tryes to escape, onos usualy dies and your team can have some ammo after building the armory and mines for RT <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->. I dont like to use that becouse its lame but some times there is no other way :/.

    You're forgetting the probable case where this guy eating the RT will be a skulk.

    Your trick works on any map, just place a random radar and distress from there. Chances are you'll catch him by surprise if not by overwhelming force.
