The closed beta servers are now offline; this phase of the beta is at an end. We'd like to thank the thousands of dedicated testers who helped us day in and day out to make World of Warcraft what it is meant to be: a fun game. Your aid was invaluable over these past months -- the game wouldn't be where it is now without you! Please be sure to check back here over the next few days for more information on the upcoming stress test!
Please note: due to the increased traffic to WorldofWarcraft.com while the game servers are offline, the Web site and the beta forums may run slowly or be inaccessible at times. We are in the process of making upgrades to our Web servers to address these issues as soon as possible. Thank you for bearing with us during the upgrade period.
Downloading the Stress Test Client - Indoflaven on 10/29/04
The client download will now be available to closed beta testers when we announce further details regarding the upcoming stress test here on WorldofWarcraft.com. It will not be available early as we originally indicated in the email we sent yesterday. While our initial plan was to offer the stress test client for download to closed beta testers ahead of time, this is no longer possible due to the extensive maintenance being performed on our servers. We apologize for any confusion this has caused. Please enjoy your weekend!

Most likely through address, but Blizz told us (closed beta testers) that actual IP scans would be present in retail.
A "nice" weekend would have been finishing up with the Guild Wars preview and moving directly on to the WoW preview. Oh man. WoWoWoWoWoWooooo...

Must resist the sexiness that is WoW. I played in the 7-day Stress Test... and the only thing that saved my soul was that Blizzard ended it. I cannot begin to comprehend what might happen if I let myself play a game of this caliber again....
Curse you Blizzard for making such well polished games!!!!
