Dusty Rusty Olde Mapper With A Compile Prob

<div class="IPBDescription">Steam/Hammer is giving me hastle</div> Hi Ya all!

Well its been sometime since i did any mapping for ns, i took a break from the whole fps scene - infact last time i did do any mapping was when steam had just been released, at the time i was using the standard sierra install (ie not through steam) i used wc to create my maps and had many hours of fun - well im trying to convince myself it was fun and not frustrating, anyway some years l8r im back fiddling away using Hammer and i have come across a problem - not specifically with mapping, more of a weirdo compile error.... let me explain a little

I load and edit my map, i run the compiler in advanced mode (yes i followed multiple examples and tutorials and have also ran in normal mode) - after sometime my map is done and hammer attempts to run it, at which point a window pops up and proudly announces :

<img src='http://img87.exs.cx/img87/9838/fail.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

Now the compile process does run ok up to that point as there is a copy of the compiled map in the ns\maps folder - i can manually load up ns via steam and select Create server and choose my map from the map list and start the game.

I have checked over and over and i cannot find the problem maybe its me, maybe its the weather... anyhow if anyone can offer any remedies or suggestions i would be most grateful...

Ps i have attached a copy of the output from the compile window.

PPs ! Just realised i posted this in the wrong forum! Doh! Sooooorrrrry!!

Cheers

MrOrange

    Welcome MrOrange, but this is the wrong place for this, there is a subforum for mapping problems. Please refer to the NS Mapping Forum FAQ for where to post stuff. It's just that BobTheJanitor likes to keep this place kinda clean...

    MOVE to Mapping Help and Troubleshooting please Bob.

    Yes, wrong forum. Believe it or not, you will actually get help faster by posting in the help forum right off.

    I don't know if there IS a way to fix this yet... Batch Compiler is origonally meant to use with WON... not sure if it's capable of starting STEAM on it's own 0o'

    ... No. For example, BC 3.0 actually says "Steam" on the tab and on the side, and it has steam settings.

    Well i must be doing something or using something wrong i guess, otherwise this forum would be stuffed with mappers having this prob... i would go back to the sierra install but my original cd is a little to scratched to use...

    I suppose i could scrap the lot and start again, ie reinstall steam, hammer, etc... <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Just use batch compiler instead of hammer to compile your maps.
