<div class="IPBDescription">Need Help</div> They are really fast, and annoying especial with HMG (shudders) how can you kill them without using Onos stomp?
It always takes lots of teamwork. You need lerk/bite and fade/blinkswipe to kill them. If you have 2 hives, then skulk/leapbite will work; if you have an Onos, then devour them when they land. Focus can really help a lot, especially if they keep getting medpacks, or in combat, resupply. OCs are a good way to deter them, or take them down. Of course, the best options is to take down their advanced armory so they don't get jetpacks in the first place.
Feels like JP regans too fast <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> seems a little cheap unless it's just me
I assume your talking about a 1 on 1. The best way in my experience to deal with a jp is to have a focus fade as it only takes 2 blink swipes to kill. If there is a team of them id still say focus fade. The more focus fades the better vs jps IMO.
Combat: Web with super skulk/lerk/fade with focus.
NS: OC distraction (Just 1 or 2...don't waste that much on them) if this is hive one, only the fade or lerk can do it very effectively, otherwise its the above method without web. And try to get them before they get into the hive rooms to make this much easier or parasite at least.

It's all about wearing their armor off in any way possible. Once the armor is below a certain level it's very easy to two bite/swipe a JPer down, or 1 focus hit. Sensory in general is the Anti-JP, since the JPer can't see anything without commander support (talking about NS, no CO. In combat, focus fades and lerks OR Xeno/Webs take care of JPers), and focus will drop them quickly. If sensory isn't available, a competent lerk will spore them down to low armor and make them vulnerable, and an excellent lerk will pick them out ot the sky. A fade can do this as well, but it's a tad bit difficult. Same for a hive2/3 skulk, and a hive3 skulk can Xeno, which is highly effective. If a 3rd hive is up webs are the obvious hard counter. OCs generally help a lot at hive1/2, because they perform the first thing I mentioned - they wear away armor. The problem is it may be too late at that point in larger servers, as the marines won't die in time to save a hive. Try to prevent them from getting near the hive and strip their armor, then take them out. Someone needs to work on the marine RTs as well, otherwise more JPs will quickly come. If they can swarm a hive repeatedly, they will probably kill it. The trick is to kill them and prevent more from coming by stopping marine resflow.
Probably in that order. Web makes it hard for them to move, OCs are great for anti-JP work if you've a few in your hive AND you're chasing the JPer with lerks - you can't dodge them all! Spore is the lazy man's option, and means the JP needs to be medded to stay alive. Xeno is good because it sends JPs flying, disorients them, and makes them fodder for any alien as follow up. Lerk bite is just a case of flying after the JP.
If you're a very good player, you might consider the Fade using blinkswipes.
They should let stomp affect JPs, again, I mean, seriously, the was already a counter to the Onos, they could just zoom around, but now they can eat onos for lunch instead of the other way around.
The purpose of the JP was to dodge attacks, and right now, we get an extremely useful alien attack rendered useless against them. Bit pointless, if you ask me.
Please stop asking for jetpack nerfs. Go fade and practice blink-swiping them in mid-air. (requires a lot of skill, but you can learn to do it) Lerk spore gas can be effective to.
Remember, jet pack are a <i><b>top tier</b></i> marine upgrade. They are <i><b>supposed</b></i> to be uber.
If you're dumb/unlucky enough to engage JPs on open ground then expect to be pwned. They outpace everything.
Get them in a corridor and you can slaughter them. Ask anyone who's seen a shortlived flight of the noobyrie. One skulk, focus, dead bodies everywhere.

with JP.. ANYTHING helps. if a gorge can't healspray anything.. spit. lerks gas/umbra, blink leap. Not in range parasite. You never know if its his last 10hp, you might kill him.
Won't be the first JPer I para'd out the sky. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
If you're a fade, the best idea is to watch their movement, and wait for them to fall to the ground. You can generally get two swipes in before they get themselves back into the air, and then, as they say, whatever goes up must go down. It takes alot of practice to manage to hit JPers in the air as a fade, so that's about the easiest strat I can think of.
Most JPers have patterns, and they cant stay in the air forever, just follow around to where they're gonna land then hit em. If we're talking about combat, a lerk or web is the best defense. In classic, OCs, fades, onos are usualy pretty good, most maps dont have many wide open areas, so the fade can blink/swipe them.
actually most jpers don't fly in a pattern unless they are playing against bots.
web was made to counter jp effectively, but if u have three hives, then nothing should be much of a problem.
onii (not fades) are good for tight corridors and low ceilings, skulks leap-biting, fades blink-swiping
lerks should be used as a suport unit (spore and umbra) more than as the flying skulk because they are just too easy to kill by a jper with a shotgun and would be a waste of 30 res.

of course with hive3 we have a free unit called a skulk who goes boom, taking out entire clouds of JPers. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
its not incredibly hard to blink swipe a jper in mid air, the thing i find that stops me the most from taking down jpers as a fade are teammates running in front of me and blocking my blink. very frustrating.
Lerks are rather hard to kill jpers with, since you cant change direction suddenely you basicly have to tail them until you catch up with them. which usually ends up with a dead lerk due to the fact that lerks have rather low hp. Easiest way to kill jpers with lerks is to attack from above/below most marines have a bloody hard time aiming vertically.
- jpers make great meals if they don't know how to control their fuel. - With 238472938473 aliens chasing them there's no way they could survive. - put ocs in the hives to keep them from buzzing around like annoying flies - fades take them out the best - lerks should use gas to weaken them
just parasite them... it really works good if more skulks would do it best in high room's where jpers are hard to kill normaly, like powersilo hive. Just stay next to the mc chambers and parasite them while lerks and fades hunt them trough oc fire ^^
let the fades, ocs, and leaping skulks deal with the jps. Using an onos or lerk is suicide as the former is a huge, slow hunk of meat that could be blasted by a couple flyers, and the latter is just too slow to be able to catchup to a speeding jper and is easily killed with one lvl 2-3 full shotty blast (in the time it takes you to bite and then leave, he'll empty at least 2 full rounds + a few pistol bullets into you as you fly away). If u plan to lerk, just spore heavily in certain areas of the room.

btw beta 5 makes jp-ers immune to stomp.

In a nutshell however.......
Gorge Web, Offence Chambers, Lerk Spore, Skulk Xenocide, Lerk Bite.

In the field - Web, Spore, Lerk Bite, Fade.
In the hive - Everything you can throw at him.
Lerk is my fav vs jps unless a gorge at 3 hives.
Rarely I get my jp killed by something else than lerks.

strafejump is like one part of a b-hop. where you strafe into the turn thus going almost as far as leap..
Uh... no. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
