Compiling Crash...

Ive been having trouble compiling for ages...

Im completly baffled.

Ive looked everywhere for a solution. I found this guide and set everyting up nicely, not that it wasnt before, and it still doesn work.

Here is my problem; I press Go! to start compiling, and it crashes straight away. It just closes VHE with a windows saying "VHE has encounterd problems and needs to close. Send Microsoft a message?" and all that nobbush.

It doesnt freeze my computer like a normal crash. It just quits and shows me the error message

Ive tried everything...

Any ideas?

    No idea to be honest as I've never used Hammer to compile. Try Nem's <a href='http://countermap.counter-strike.net/Nemesis/index.php?p=3' target='_blank'>Batch Compiler</a>, you will also need the <a href='http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=262D25E3-F589-4842-8157-034D1E7CF3A3&displaylang=en' target='_blank'>.NET Framework</a> (d/l is on the left of that page).

    I'd also recommend (if you haven't already) getting the latest version of the <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=81213' target='_blank'>compile tools</a>.

    If you having trouble with setting BC up check <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=50171' target='_blank'>this thread</a>.

    will i still need to convert to map through hammer, because this crashes just the same as compiling

    Usually yes, but you can use a program called <a href='http://extension.ws/hlfix/' target='_blank'>HLFix</a> instead. You can use this in conjunction with Batch Compiler, so its fairly easy to use.

    To expand, HLFix will convert RMF files to MAP files (and do a better job at it then Hammer will). As for the setup tutorial, the on Kester linked to is out of date, use <a href='http://countermap.counter-strike.net/Nemesis/index.php?c=32' target='_blank'>this one</a>.
