<div class="IPBDescription">WHEREEVER YOU ARE!</div> So i was playing NS earlier (shocking i know), and i was bantering friendlyly (you heard me) with someone called Swordy ([HD]Swordy? Swordy[HD]? w/e). And he was great. I liked him (banter was over voice comm).

Later on in the game i hear him shout "HA! RUNRUNRUNRUNRUN!" over the voice comm, which the way he said it, was fantastic. But then i saw him run round the corner (he was onos), with gun fire coming all around him, and he saw a gorge and yelled "RUN FATTEH!". Whether it was intentional or not, i do not know, but it was a near perfect imitation of Ace Ventura. I was collapsed on my desk laughing for a good 5 minutes (so i'm easy to amuse, i don't care). It was great.

Anyway, since i haven't seen you before (or if i have i don't remember you), and probably won't see you again (this is the topsy turvy world of the internet after all), i want to thank you for making me laugh so hard i nearly cried.


For anyone who wants to moan this is a spam post, it may be just that, but at least this is a nice pleasant one which makes a change from "XXX HAX OMG BAN HIM FROM LIFE" posts that appear every now and again.

    I've had similar situations where one person has really just made a game very enjoyable. Have you ever had that random player you've never seen before just latch on to you and start cheering you on throughout the whole game, bemoaning every time you die? Annoying if done wrong, but very hilarious if done right. Anyone else got any 'memorable people who turned a dull game into a great experience' stories to share? (before this turns into another dull spam spam spam lock thread?)

    One that I can remember is when a guy would get **** off everytime he got killed. It was almost as if he was about to scream into his mic: "DUDE WHAT THE **** THAT IS COMPLETE ****!!" Then he would go afk by the looks of it (he stood still for about a minute). Then he would come back acting like nothing had happened. Then when he died again....

    The best one I had was when I was playing some ns map I was a skullk and running around in a hallway. All of sudden a gorge appeared from around a corner and started yelling at me with his mic, "Heelllpppp!!!!! someone is after me!!!! Hellllpp meeee!!!". Then I heard somone else from somewhere else said, "Everyone has someone after them". And another guy said, "He probably think you are sexy". While all this happening the gorge kept on running toward me and the next second a jetpacker with a lmg appeared around the corner. I was far away and being a skullk nothing much I could do. I switched to parasite and "baaammm" one parasite and the guy fall down in 2 pieces". The gorge stopped next to me and goes, "Why did you kill him for? You didnt have to kill him. He probably thought I'm sexy and that's why he came after me. And you killed him. Shame on you man... Shame on you.."

    I like the comms that make it look like they dont have a clue what they are doing.. but actually do.. and win the game... XD
    Also, When voicecoms are used properly, things get interesting - specially as the models I have for aliens have movign motuhs.. which sync perfectly. It's surreal, but.. oddly quite cool.. to see aliens speaking in a British accent.... hehehe

    Yeah its those kind of guys who make the game really social and really fun. I find its generally older guys i.e. adults that are the kinds of guys that are really funny and genuinely fun.

    This guy MooManChoo used to make all games as marines fun. He didn't lose as commander either. I mean I literally never played a game with him as commander where he lost, he had a real knack of getting his marines to do what he wanted them too. Infact, after one game I remember him saying "C'mon guys, I cant command two games in a row, that just wouldn't be fair on the aliens."

    back in one game in the days of 1.04, no-one wanted to go comm at the start. the banter was along the lines of "someone get in the chair" "I'm not going in, I've never commed before" "same" "me too" and then about 3 minutes in some new players joined marines, calling out "comm, drop shotties" "drop an armslab" etc, etc... at a break in the idiocy, my friend yells out on his mic "Invisible commander; give me god powers!"

    I think we survived another 5 min; and we never did get a comm.

    Sad part of it is, its few and far inbetween when those games happen, but when they do its classic.

    Theres a guy "NUTTER" a few times he has made unique game experiances for me.

    lol one time I was playing with this guy and he was a marine and I killed him and goes "OMG CLOAK!!". I was getting **** cause everyone kept making excuses when I killed them, like it's so impossible to believe that I just killed them, so I got angry with him and he said "Chill dude, I was just making up and excuse to save my fragile ego!" we laughed and that sort of became a fun excuse to use. So he comes back down into the sewer and sneaks up on me and kills me. So of course I needed an excuse "OMG CLOAK NUB ON THE RINE TEAM!" and so on and so forth throughout the game. It turned my bad mood (with all the people going "WTH hax" everytime I killed them), into a good mood and I actually enjoyed a round of combat for once.
