If it's not recognised as a command the bots are likely not installed, or you're using the wrong command.

Both RCBot and WhichBot require metamod.

Test to see if that is installed by typing "meta list"
This has the advantage of showing if the bots are loaded.

Scenario 1:
"Meta list" -> Unrecognised...
Go into liblist.gam and replace
gamedll "dlls\ns.dll"
with...
gamedll "addons\metamod\metamod.dll"

Obviously make sure "addons\metamod\metamod.dll" exists. <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /> (Ie, you've installed metamod, and it's there.)

Goto Scenario 2

Bots are not loaded
Navigate to addons\metamod\
open plugins.ini
Is the bot plugin listed there?

If you're using the AMX version of the mods, (advisable) then AMX should be loaded in Metamod, and AMX's own plugins.ini should refer to the bots.

all the plugins ini says is = win32 addons/hivemind/hivemind.dll , i must be doing something incorrect cause i still get the unknown command , and the liblist says = gamedll "addons\metamod\dlls\metamod.dll" <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' />

That's a bit extreme.
I have no idea what commands HiveMind uses, as at last check WhichBot still kicked the monkeys out of it.
PM ModChaosControl and he should be able to help you with it. What with being the author and all.

Your gameDll is correct, and your plugins.ini seems fine. I think it must be the command you are using.
What does "meta list" show in console? Just to be sure.

i used the latest version of whichbot which installed hivemind for some reason , i tried everything i know and what you posted above ,but it still said unknown command , i wanted to use the bots cause after 20min of online play i get loads of lag <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /> .

my ping starts at 150ish and after 20 min goes to 3000ish

i managed to get it working <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /> , but both rcbot and hivemind crash ns to desktop after 10 min , whichbot does not <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /> , but the whichbot does not seem to leave their base very often , is it the map i play (they have problems with opening doors and climbing ladders )

WB are very very waypoint dependant. If you have good waypoints, they can play pretty good if you stack the alien team.

If you have bad waypoints, they get lost and don't do much at all. I'd suggest checking in the wb forums for waypoint files.
