my game is isanely dark. even when i put the brightness and contrast up it was still very dark. is there anyway i can make it brighter so i can actually play?

    Lightgamma 2, gamma 3 - check if D3D or OpenGL is brighter. Thats about all I know - theres a few more commands that might help, I'm sure someone can think of them.

    in past experience, this would be due to ur monitor most of the time. set your graphics card gamma higher, and it should be ok. also do lightgamma 2 in game.

    i made the video card brighter but when the game starts the game automatically makes my screen go dark again

    ill try the lightgamma thing though

    damn..didnt work. How come the video card brightness lets me turn up the brightness on tfc, half life, and other mods except ns. when i play ns it automatically makes the video card go dark again?

    I guess you've already tried to increase the brightness and gamma in-game (options, video), but have a shot at this.

    make an autoexec.cfg file in your ns folder and put the following lines in it

    gamma 5.0
    gl_overbright 1.0
    alias gl_overbright
    lightgamma 1.0
    texgamma 1.0

    This will most likely work. In fact, it may make the game a bit too bright if anything. If you're adjusting the values, higher values for tex and lightgamma make the game darker.
