An interesting idea was suggested in this topic and Zamma and crew are going to pursue this BUT ... we need a gnome model to proceed. If anyone out there could create a gnome model it would contribute greatly to this project. Simply follow the size guiedlines in the original post.
Yes we've done an exhaustive search for one, but none exist.

Cute, but where's his beard and pick?
damn you nanites... DAMN YOU TO HELL :<
He can, we just want him to have a long white beard and a pick.

do that later, just make a mini-rine first so we can have the code done, THEN we can have custom gnome models

Again, what we are looking for is a "dwarf of folklore". This will be a mini-marine so to speak, but he's going to look like a gnome, about half the size of a standard marine, oldish looking with a scraggly white beard, and wielding a pick as a primary weapon with a pistol as his secondary. His primary functions will be to build and repair. If you need a better idea of what we're in need of here read the original topic by Yumosis.
Well put. I am not a modeler but simply coordinating this project.
:edit: and it looks like his leg is unnaturally bent

He looked much better walking and running. Today we will demo him in game to get abetter perspective.
Still searching for a good skinner to do the face work, and someone to make the pick. Credit will be given in the plugin.
Is there a workaround for this? It's really the only glitch so far.
It doesn't look as bad ingame as the picture depicts. The problem lies with scaling him down. I think he's shrunk from the top and bottom towards the center, and the center is the same distance from the ground as the original model, hence he's a foot or so off the ground.
No problem, you will be mentioned in the plugin credits.
