There are like 18 different variants of the stormtrooper in the star wars story galaxy. Be a little more specific.

My personal opinion on that idea is that if you wanna run around shooting at/being supported by stormtroopers there are plenty of games to do it in. I know that some people want to fully customize their side of the game but the 'fun' genre of customisations makes me sick. I can't understand why someone would want to be running around with (so that I don't offend anyone's project) a load of Simpson characters. For me the Natural Selection team have created an environment, not totally unique but in its own way different. This is one of the reasons I play the game, and don't still languor playing South Park on the N64 (yeah you remember, Turok engine...the gameplay /me barfs).
The other thing I personally (and I can't stress this enough, I'm not trying to get people to give up how they play/change/bastardise the mod) think is that creating new skins and models can significantly change the gameplay. For instance I'm currently working on a mapping project at the moment (dammit how do I dig myself out of this hole), and although it may look like it's designed for the sleek Michelin men of Mr. Lucas' universe to be running around in (see ns_solace thread), I can assure you that the majority of the environment will heavily take into account the fact that Marines are green and aliens are of a certain colour set. In my opinion as a mapper balancing a map through colour is just as important as balancing a map through its Marine/Alien-friendly areas.
