Bring back!
In 2.0, remember the little notice that said Active Resource Nodes X vs X?

I think it should be brought back..

Anyone else with me?

Wasn't a mod. Was put in during 2.0 beta for testing purposes, got left in...got taken out eventually, thank god.

I do remember that, I but I think it was a mod
cause I don't remember it being on every server....
I don't know it's been a long time since I saw that thing,
but I think bringing it back for let's say, the commander
and gorges to see would be nice.

I don't think the Marines and the other alien evolutions
really need that message there though, only for the
building units.

It was implamented to help playtesting. It wasn't taken out till a bit after public release. I would have to vote against re-implamentation as it gives the other team free scouting information on how many nodes they should be looking for.

It wasn't a mod, it was built in during 2.0. You shouldn't be able to know how many resource towers the other team has, but you should be able to know how many your own team has. It shouldn't just be the comm and gorges, either. As a marine, assuming you don't have specific orders, it's nice to know whether getting to an open rt spot is more important (when you have only a few rt's), or attacking something in alien territory (many rt's). As an alien, it's good to know how important it is to drop an rt, versus dropping dc's/hive/going fade.

I'm fine with it being in or out, just as long as it doesn't list what the enemy has.

well, you could just count them on the minimap

On the CAP server we have a mod that shows each team how many resource nodes they have, but not how many the enemy has.

It is very useful, so much so that I begin to miss it when playing on other servers.

Press whatever key you have bound to your map and see for yourself? Saves certain people the time of a quite pointless discussion

I know, they should get rid of x-hairs also, becuase people can just put a dot on their montier with a magic marker.

Its not a point that you can all ready do it, its that there is an easier way to do it.

Yes.. but why would you want anyone to have to reimplent a whole new system for something that takes 1 second to do and imho works better than the old system because you can see WHERE the RTs are.

I'm getting rather tired of people asking: where do I go comm? I just said get RTs.. surely you don't need me to tell you which ones are free.

Old system: Easier, you don't have to hold your map button but you don't have a clue which RTs are actually free

Map system: So you have to hold your map button, wow.. that's a lot of effort , and it tells you which RTs are where (including ones that are under attack if you happen to have MT)

Maybe if the map didn't take up the whole screen, and I didn't have to go around counting each individual node, then yes, pushing a button wouldn't be a big deal.

What the hell? No one was suggesting removing the minimap, and yes, damnit, counting symbols on a picture takes far too long when time is of the essence.

*blinks* Have you not been reading anything that was said in this post? The system was already in in 2.0 and it would not be hard at all to add a display counter to the HUD.

Dont put it in, its the skulk's/ commander's job to know roughly what nodes the marines has.

I don't know about you guys, but I can never see a building on the map that I haven't seen with my own eyes already.

I say when you hit the map button, the number of RT's that your current team has should be displayed.
That way the lazy people don't have to count and the weird people can still practice their counting. I would like to see a number display thingy reimplemented.

like coris said, leave it out

the process of finding these things out should be left to a good comm / patrolling skulks
