Let's say I'm playing NS and I've got a Window event that just occured (MSN, ICQ, ZoneAlarm or any other pop-ups), when I go back to NS, I lost all sounds !!!

To fix it, I have to go back at least 2 menus up in NS (trying not to loose game connection) and get back with RESUME. It fixes it most of the times, but I one time I had no choice then quiting game and starting it back again.

It also afects the mouse pointer. Sometimes the regular mouse pointers appears on top of the NS screen. I'm able to still move around but it feels like laging as if I've got half mouse control.

I don't know if it's NS or HL issue.

I have Win-2000 Pro.

It's an HL issue. This happens with HL or any HL mod that I've ever played.

to fix it just hit esc then resume and most of the time it will work for most hl mods..

no, hitting esc and resuimg does nothing, i have to quite the multiplayer game, go out all the way to main menu and rejoin the game to get the sound working again............

Hitting esc then resume has worked for all other mods for HL, so this might just be a NS problem i guess. Supposedly, this age old problem of losing sound after minimizing will be fixed in the next HL patch. I can only hope.
