<div class="IPBDescription">Gmail times 3, just sign up.</div> <a href='http://unitedemailsystems.com/' target='_blank'>http://unitedemailsystems.com/</a>

A friend of mine just showed me this, I signed up, it seems legit. Prety nifty lookin, the only thing that puzzles me is that it uses the MSN icons all over the place, but eh. 3gb is 3gb. Hopefully this hasn't been posted before, I did a few searches and turned up naught.

myemail@unitedmailsystems.com? No thanks. Besides, it isn't just about the space. 1 GB is plenty, plus GMail's interface is the best, hands down.

I use GMail for the superior interface. The storage is just a perk to me <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I don't know... sounds kind of fishy..

I mean... I don't *need* all that space - hell - I don't even need the space Gmail is giving me.

HELL, I don't even need the 100mb of free space Yahoo has!

But this just seems kind of strange, to me... 3gb is a lot of space... and look at the pictures... jpeg artifacts... you'd think a big company like that would be... I don't know... neater?

I'm sticking with Google. I trust them.

Yup. United Email Systems isn't going to rise, Gmail is dominating even before it's officially public.

Plus there is the whole geek e-wang "I have <i>gmail</i>!" factor that other companies just won't be able to match.

Funny how fast <i>I</i> morphs into <i>we</i>...

Anyway, I'm quite happy with GMail so far, their servers are fast, nice interface, and your favourite name is most likely not taken yet.

    I can't even count the amount of 'chrono' people I've met online even if I used other people's fingers and toes as well ^^;

having a common nickname isn't a bad thing though; it's kinda like having a popular first name in real-life... it only gets bad when you don't have second names to help distinguish between them =3

Give your nickname a second name chrono for teh win!!!

I would if mine wasn't pretty much the only 'Geminosity' on the net (bar one but they stopped using the net as far as I can tell like 5 years ago and I didn't even know they existed until someone showed me a linky to their yahoo account thinking it was me XD . The Yahoo account expired too I think because i can't find it anymore o.O ).

Actually they have a bunch of domains you can choose from, I picked @notech.us. And the interface was suprisingly good looking, it was like a higly simplified version of outlook (am I the only one who doesn't like the gmail interface? I've been looking for the button that adds a saved address to the "to:" bar in a new email for weeks now). In fact it looked EXACTLY like outlook. In fact there was a button right on the starting page to synch it up with outlook. Hmmm...somebody likes outlook. Either way and even if it goes away, for now it's just another 3gb to add to the gig I already have at gmail, and since when has thatr hurt anyone?

Yeah, but how big of an attachment can you put on?

This is why I like Gmail. I can send HUGE attachments.

Edit: At first I thought this thread was titled "Gamal pwned?", and I was just about to make a comment about Thief III.

I've yet to find a practical use for my gmail account. I just have way too many now. Good thing is, even after I no longer have my college email account and my ISP email account, I will probably still have the gmail to rely on. Still I need to find a use for this blasted thing.

Strike 1: Clicking on the "Shoping" or "Web Search" links on the main page lead to one of the endless useless search pages that infest every corner of the web, screw up your google results, and make you want to kill the people who run them
    Strike 2: Advanced interface: IE6+
Strike 3: The home page is butt-ugly
Strike 4: Notice all those little icons for payment services down at the bottom of the page? Yeah, they don't mention on the front page that you have to pay to get rid of ads (I know gmail has ads, but they're unobtrusive text. The only promise UES makes is that the ads won't be pop-ups...and I think most of us know how well that rule sticks.)
Strike 5: The "Support Chat" picture on the main page isn't actually a link. A genius idea for reducing the cost of tech support
Strike 6: Google has been around for years, will probably keep being around, and is even a publically traded company now. These guys? Well, the forums are newer than my marriage.

Even playing by backyard baseball rules, that's too many strikes
