Gamma Problems

hey all.. I used to play NS alot but the problem was the GAMMA. For some reason whenever i launched a NS game to join a server from my desktop (steam) it would carry the gamma from my desktop over into my game allowing me to see effectively enough to play. I also recently upgraded my PC (800 Duron to a 2500 Athalon XP yeah its a big diff) and it dosnt let me do this anymore. I've got my Monitor gamma all the way up. But when i go into a game the game gamma takes over.... if anything its working backwards. When i go into a game it lowers the gamma and when i come out the gamma is lowered to the games gamma. do u guys have any idea how i can fix this? thanks for any help.

So you mean the gamma doesn't revert back when you quit? Are you quitting NS properly (ESC+Quit Game)? If so, create a shortcut to a file called resetgamma.exe that's in your NS folder and run it everytime you quit. Sorry, I don't know exactly how to solve your problem, but this should help you until you find out.

If the game's too dark, see if the brightness/gamma options in the video options menu are set to max. I don't think rising the monitor's gamma too much is good.
