<div class="IPBDescription">What problems have you had?</div> I personaly haven't had any problems with SP2 (yet) but I have heard all sorts of things from people about how it sucks cos it stops nero from wroking or Homeworld 2 from working etc.

When I first installed it it actually failed halfway through and crashed I assumed it was SP2 being rubbish like a lot of people were saying; at that point however I had installed SP2 on a HD that hadn't been formated for a long time.

A few days later I bought a newer HD did a clean install of Xp Pro then Installed SP2 from disc before anything else and it's worked fine ever since.

What problems have any of you lot had with SP2 if any?

I recall coil saying something about it having all new features, and breaking everything.

Because of that I fear getting SP2. SP2-phobia if you may call it.

the crash during mid install was from spyware you need to removing spyware before installing

    so far no problems

I've had zero problems using SP2. My Nero program still works, everything works just fine. I really like the firewall they added, and the pop-up blocker (late perhaps, but meh)

Well with the latest version of XP running on my new PC (The one with SP2 and the damn spiffy holographic disk) is running SP2 and I've had no problems.

I've not had a single problem since installing, anything that didn't instantly work was simply my failure to tell the firewall my software is allowed on the net.

It's a pity they didn't do anything to make Internet Explorer any better at displaying web pages.

    Only thing I noticed was a blue update bar rather a green one <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Plus it decided to change my blocked settings so Outlook no longer received any emails. Was wondering why I wasn`t getting any for a week <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

It's kind of to the point where the best thing they could do would be to buy Firefox <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

From reading this and a few other articles.

it would seem that about 10%of people who upgraded to SP2 can have the possibility for severe screw ups with it.

Problems can range from loss of applications working, to having to do a system restore ro totaly crashing the PC and forcing reformat.

well, seeing how as I have 2K (and am sticking with it) NOTHING!

Things that I know from family/family friends:

One key aplication my dad needs for work does not work with SP2, thus he has not installed it.

One of my mom's coworkers ended up with a compleatly unusable computer after installing SP2 (I don't remember the exact problems).

For now I am telling my mum to not install SP2 untill something is done about it.

It fixed my problems with Vetrilo and other voice comm required programs. Now I can use ventrilo and use Half-Life voice comm! On a side note, no, no problems at all.

I was getting blue screens while gaming after installing SP2, reinstalled my sound driver's and all seems fine and dandy now.
