well i could buy a bigass fighting knife but the Marine Corps will provide one for me. my old cheap folder was getting old.. so i needed a strong, hefty folding knife that could serve utility purposes. as well as awesomeness purposes. it's also "military" and "made for those who serve" and "for professional use" all of which i am!! (well.. the professional part maybe not.. professional weaponaholic?)

I want to get my hands on one of those... I use my folder for everything, expecially as a box opener.

I don't get it. My friend is in love with knives for some reason, he said with his next paycheck he's going to spend $50 on a buck knife. I asked him what he's going to use it for, and all he ever says is "what won't I use it for?". I have a ~2 inch folder on my keychain that comes in handy alot, but who's going to walk around with a huge buck knife?

I don't get it either... other than for preparing and eating lunch I can't even remember the last time I used a knife... and I'm not exactly going to use a hunting knife for that.

Anything non-dinner related usually involves a Stanley, but I've not used one of those in years now.

Ya, cause its real easy to kill people with a swiss army knife... The figgin blade is like three and a half inches long, you would be hard pressed to kill a torso-man with that thing in under 10 minutes (he'd be all rolling around and what not, think about how crazy that would be O.o)

Anyways, Zig, since were all to nerdy to cut to the point, how much is that setting you back?

    A) he's a torso man, he has no wrists.

    B) you think he'd let you get at his neck? he'd be rolling all over the place like that wazoo (FYI swiss army knifes are crappy cutting blades too)

the best and safest kill is a kill that neutralizes the target. you can bleed him out, but while he's bleeding he can shoot you, stab you, attack you while he still has strength.

the ideal kill zones are in the brain and in chest organs.

Both of which you need around 6 inches to do damage too.

[edit] and we're talking about a torso man here, hes not going to shoot or stab you.

and upon reaching that point, clicky for my next knife purchase. i'd love to carry it in the field.<a href='http://www.dojoofthefourwinds.com/hissatsu.html' target='_blank'><img src='http://www.belisimo.com/2907.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' /></a>

Its a nice blade indeed, but its friggen sharp, and I don't know how well that grip would stick on a hard stab to bone... (iow, finger ribbons)
  • ZigZig ...I am Captain Planet&#33; Join Date: 2002-10-23 Member: 1576Members
the grip surface is supposed to be completely adequate for stabbing hard things and not slippin.
