<div class="IPBDescription">Tired of pummeling my spacebar</div> Okay, I hate to ask, but I need either a good lerk flight script, or a three-jump script. I despise scripts, but I've broken one keyboard already pounding ont he spacebar to get away... <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Unless you want to use a _special one which will empty your energy in less than a second and pretty much teleport you to the roof.
You can always bind +jump to mousewheel, works okay with lerk as long as you don't go overboard

If you want to preserve your hardware, you have to realize that hitting the keyboard/button harder obviously does not make it work any better (unless you have an old sticky piece of hardware). From experience, spacebar has always been too fragile for common use. Mousewheel or mouse buttons are nice.

I use q to jump as a lerk. It rawks (since strafing is non-functional anyway, and a single index finger has good and fast control).

Don' t tap the Spacebar THAT hard, and try to glide, that is: press and hold the spacebar while flying, make sure that you enough speed before doing that, so it goes as following:

1 flap flap flap (get some speed)
    2 gliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide (glide through a room/ hall)
3 goto 1 (repeat the process)

PS: Be gentle on you're spacebar. You're not playing a piano which has to make a loud noice. Do it with feeling, keep you're finger on the spacebar while tapping it.

yes thats exactly how its done, 3 flaps is more than enough speed to glide around most of the map (with celerity). do wat i do, to start, jump 3 times and on the 3rd hold it, then flap 2 more times and glide, you should now be going really fast. now to maintain fast speed througout your flight, do lots of up and down bs and take corners very sharply, and flap once out of corners. and thats all there is to it. and sometimes flying straight at a marine and sitting on ground biting and flapping your wings owns them <!--emo&::lerk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/lerk.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='lerk.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I'm a lefty. That is, i use my left hand for the mouse and i have my right hand on the keyboard for my directional controls and whatnot.

IKJL is my WSAD, and somehow in the mirror process, i got my jump/crouch flipped. Instead of using space for jump, i use the / key for jump and the spacebar for crouch. In my opinion it's always easier, if you're going to be jumping a lot, to have your jump bound to a smaller and less laggier key.

The spacebar has to depress the whole length and if you press on only one side of it it's got a further distance to go down, and thusly it's not as precise as i'd like it to be.

Use a single-wide key, like the ones of the alphabet on your keyboard. Not the hulking ones like shift, ctrl, or space.

Yeah the best you can bind it to is your Mouse-Roller, right mouse is ok but you dont want a dead finger at the end of the day. ^_^

Numpad 2,4,6,8 for movement, num0 for jump, num_enter for crouch and kp_5 for reload.

It works for me, and i don't have any problems with being a lerk

y do u need a script to help u fly a lerk, it's not hard. Doesn't even require practice
  • RoverRover blargh Join Date: 2003-09-23 Member: 21139Members
I use arrows for movement...and how weird it may sound: control for jump and shift for crounch...its just a habit...

Like the other guy said, flap 3-5 times then hold the key, also easy to swoop down and back up that way...but keep in mind: on the way down just hold it and when goin up flap twice

    Regards

    alias +ejump "+jump;wait;-jump;wait;+jump;wait;-jump;wait;+jump;wait;-jump;wait;+jump;wait;-jump "
    alias -ejump ""

    bind mwheelup "+ejump"
    bind space "+jump"

Roll mwheel one click, and glide with space. Best lerk config ever.

Spacebar = teh win if used properly. You don't have to mash it. Treat it like a signifcant other, or like a cat.. or dog... or whatever
