How do you make the flashlight dhine around you instead of "aiming" it somewhere?
Everyone i see can do this, how is it done?

It's a "feature" of the HL engine. If someone looks at you while you are using the flash-light, they will see the same.

It's a big problem since a flashligt attracts skulks like (insert the proper analogy here, I have forgotten what they're called).

Flashlights repel me. It drops my fps 15 points. Which is in the fatal area of five.

    Impulse 100^30 @ jammno. >:D

The flashlight looks to you like it's pointing somewhere, but to everyone else, enemies included, it looks like you're standing in a big pool of light. If you look down at your feet, you should be able to see it too, IIRC. I haven't looked at my feet in NS with my flashlight on for at least 20 minutes.

you see everyone doing it because the same thing is happening to you. it looks like your aiming your light, but in reality, your just glowing.

hey I do have such the same problem! I mostly got 20-60 (this is the max.) fps...

    I got an
    P III , 900MHz
    GeForce 2MX
128mb RAM (I think this is my problem)

Well according to the flashlight problem. I think it should be fixed somwhere in the future. I just use my flashlight to light our dark corners and stuff like that.
