<div class="IPBDescription">(I bet you are so fed up with these ^_^)</div> Need to know if <a href='http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/amd_64_bit.html' target='_blank'>this</a> AMD CPU (AMD Athlon 64 3500 - 8th from top) is better than <a href='http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Intel_Pentium_4_LGA775.html' target='_blank'>this</a> Intel CPU (Intel Pentium 4 560 "LGA775 Prescott" 3.6GHz - 4th from top)
The computer the CPU is going into will only be used mainly for gaming and work on word. Anything else you need to know just ask.

Yes. It is. 64 bit > 32 bit. I curse myself to this day for buying a 3.2GHz P4 when a AMD64 3000+ was only $100 more :S For gaming, the AMD64s traditionally outperform the Intels and the AMD32s. Also, when more 64bit apps come out, you'll be ready for it.

Same as above, A64 is better for gaming then P4. I doubt that 64bit will spread so fast, but you never know.

RGR, I aint getting a PCI-E board, or a 64bit board, because by the time they become standard, 64bit processors will be much faster than what your current board can support.

Just so you know, you will be unable to get an AMD64 bit mobo that has PCI-E for a while. That will limit your GFX card to an x800 pro at best. <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' />
