    No no, think about it.

    It's like StarCraft because it has ALIENS.

    Any game containing aliens is like StarCraft.

    It also has MARINES.

    Any game containing marines is like StarCraft.

    You can BUILD things.

    Any game in which you can build things is like StarCraft.

    You can SHOOT things with your GUN.

    You also shoot things with guns in CS!

    It's brilliant!

    Well Starcraft I can sort of understand in a way, kind of. But Counter-Strike? The only similarities I see is that they both feature humans and they both have an FPS view.

    I think in this day and age, everything relates to Counter-Strike somehow.

    Hell, when they were "investigating" the sniper in Washington some time ago, MSNBC showed counter-strike.net for some odd reason!

    Starcraft and Counter-Strike are both huge and well-known games, so any comparison to them is clearly being used in a good context. I don't think being on slashdot makes much of a difference, as anyone that cares about games read about NS on another site already. The comments on the /. article are 90% about other stuff anyway.

    They were comparing "i am god" on the tarot card to "god mode" in video games when CS doesn't even really have a god mode!

    Well, they did sort of steal the "gestating egg" sound from SC.
    The hatching too, I think.

    I recognize a couple roars from DOOM also. Specifically the "Imp sees you" sample.

    Well Monse is lucky there wasn't a direct link to natural-selection.org. He'd have one web server, burnt to a crisp. I imagine there was probably a good hit anyhow.
