Lol, I taught this post was me with Jp/shotgun! hehe

True skilled jps are hard but focus lerk really owns them, well it would own me.

A skulk and a fade can beat average players jps, but against a great jper...

Webs are the armageddon and evil because you can't weld while flying because the "fumes" don't follow the jp. = Stupid.

When I take a lvl for the welder, I wish it really worked...anyway.

You need to use ocs folks...if a hive isn't lamed its very vulnerable to a jp rush. If you don't have metab or adren you can probably forget about fades stopping jps, a lerk will also proably get killed unless it spores and leaves them for the skulks. Ocs are probably the only worthwhile defence...also dont forget that three gorges healspraying make it hard to take a hive. Healspray works very well against seiges too. Ever tried to take on two adrenaline healspraying gorges?..puts the number of seiges needed up to about 5..meaning even skulks can do enough damadge to keep the hive safe forever.

OC, lerks, fades, webs, xeno. Likely in that order.

OC are flak turrets. They might not hit a JPer but they WILL force him to move about. If he stands still he'll be a pincushion.

Lerks can umbra anyone getting up close and personal to shotty boy. Spore is good for chip damage, especially if you've a few lerks and some OC all going at it. Bite is also great if you're "jousting" the JPer.

Fades are almost identical to JPers, and if you have Focus then its one hit kill funtime.

Webs stop JPs dead... leaving them open for any other assault.

Xeno with celerity or leap just makes you a marine-seeking missile. Run at the JPer, boom.

In combat its easy enough to any of those upgrades, but in classic you'll need a bit of cooperation - you'd need 2 gorges to cover 1 hive with a few OC fast enough, and either way you'd still need a few lerks or a fade.

Fade is better than lerk, since blink is a bit easier to master than flight. This means fades can move between offense and defense very quickly, which is essential for stopping and then countering a jp rush.

I just love to be the anit-jp lerk

Oh the good ol dogfighting wiht the l337j37

I find the lerk to be best solution add focus to and that the best. All you need is to have little patience not going after the Coffe-nitro-jp but to flap steadily on wall and wait the jp to make some stupid move and BAM! <!--emo&::lerk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/lerk.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='lerk.gif' /><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::asrifle::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='asrifle.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Leap/bite and Blink/swipe scripts is the worse thing you can use. I don't know how many people have alread emphasized this but its absolutely one of the worst scripts in the world. Just use hud_fastswitch 1.

I've been making progress with leap/bite. It's what I play in CO now just so I can get the practice in.

In classic, OC's are good stuff mid to late game. Building 3-6 OC's will effectively cover most any hive. That's a lot of resources to spend that you could be spending on fading their base or denying paths or setting up forward oc/heal bases though.

In case ya'all don't know, OC's fall to single lmgs with enough ammo:
<a href='http://cerul.dyndns.org:3000/site/games/NaturalSelection.html' target='_blank'>http://cerul.dyndns.org:3000/site/games/Na...lSelection.html</a> (scroll to bottom "Destroying Offense Towers:") I should put that on it's own page. . .

Anyone know if lastinv is faster than selecting a new weapon slot? (Yes hudfastswitch =1. yes 1, yes, hud_fastswitch=1. switchfasthud=1. 111!!!!one )

I tire of the "all you need is skill!" answer to everything. Technically a single skulk could take out a team of HAs, with enough "skill."

    Environment: CO

I generally consider myself a better alien than marine. Specifically, I'm best at skulking and lerking - in a one on one situation, a skulk me could almost always beat a marine me.

This is reversed once I get a jetpack. Even though my alien ego has more "skill," the JP doppelganger would win almost every time. I'm too fast, too powerful, and I have a constant supply of meds to keep the health flowin. So no, I at least do not buy "skill" as the answer to JPs.
