What sucks is I spent an hour last night carving the egg into two sections. <!--emo&::nerdy::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/nerd-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='nerd-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> Ah well, mistakes <i>are</i> progress.

Your saying in your post that the job is so easy and that you could do it in a few minutes. You did the same on my shotgun shell thread. SO WHAT IF ITS EASY? It works! It looks good that is ALL THAT MATTERS. And I don't know who made you king of the forum.

Yeah, that latest skulk looks really good! What all the transparent models are still missing though is the right ambience inside the egg/hive. The light goes through a red hull, so mostly red light reaches the inside. Also there should be some kind of fluid inside of it making the colors even darker from outside to inside. Ok, it is Half-Life and even the latest shaders would have difficulty with what I ask for, but it surely gives more realism to the models if they are more red inside. Simulating the fluid in an appropriate way is not possible I guess - at least I wouldn't try to model it in.
P.S.: Amazing what the engine is capable of doing under Steam now <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I need to get Daza's okay before I release (since it's basically just a slightly tweaked version of the egg in this thread), but thanks for the comments.

i like the hive, but would it be possible for you to put in like skulks inside the hive? so it suits Combat better, and it would look cool with heaps of skulks in odd positions inside it

Cool stuff, should have seen it before.
There is a way to make models transparent with a custom dll (I never used hehe), you can even chose transparance. Could fit a real skulk in there or that be overkill on the polies you think?

Please could people read the guidelines and PM the author about it.
If that fails, you could just post in the "Requests and Concepts" Sub-forum about the model you would like.
The Moderators/Forum admins can correct me on this if they wish.
The high-poly Transparent Egg is on the NS armslab site, as for the hive i don't know but just get in touch with C3 and he should help you.
