No Idea What Is Happening

<div class="IPBDescription">where to put this...</div> ok, im not sure where to put this, because this problem has unknown origins. basically, i cant join my friend's server and i dont know why. not only can i not join, i cant see the server in my favorites or on the general server list. ive been playing on his server for months. i can join other servers, bt not his. other players can join his server, but not me. the really weird part is, i live in an appartment at a university, and one of my roommates has this same exact problem, but another can join and play just fine. i have no idea what is happening.

    hehe, no, im actually an admin. one of the key points tho, i cant even SEE the server. if i was banned, i could still be able to see it

    He may need to open or forward some ports on his firewall.

    Have you tried connecting to the IP through the console?

    Did you check your filters?

    I know that if you set a server for favorites and your comp freezes / NS crashes it won't save it in your favorites.

    The only way I know how to save your favorites is to exit the game normally.

    If your filters are filtering out the server you're looking for that might be the problem with trying to find it.

    Get the IP of the server, i.e. 197.52.34.31:27502

    In console type: connect "TheIPOfTheServer"

    What happens when you do this?

    yay! this worked! the weird thing is, i still cant get info on the server through the steam server list. and i still cant see it. so i know the problem is still there. at least now i can get around it. thanks

    So you dont have to connect "ip" each time, try going into Favourites, click add, and stick the IP in there. Server should appear.     see, the server IS in my favorites under that same IP, but i cant connect to it that way, or even get the server's ping. this is one messed up problem

    Norton Internet Security can do this if you click "block" instead of "allow" btw...

    ewww, norton. i dont use norton, besides, i can join other servers just fine. i can join this particular server by using the connect command in the console, but i just cant see it in the steam list

    How about don't use the steam browser and get All Seeing Eye which is 1987230941723492734091274 times better.

    This is happening to my clan server as well. You can join with the IP but it is <not responding> in the server list.
