Look for a commander guide in the frontiersman forum.

    Welcome aboard.

Just remember, practice, practice practice. Try commanding in small servers so you don't **** too many people off when you can't be in 16284634889370795 places at once, but eventually you'll get the hang of it. Being a command is an admirable position and you are more likely to get a spot in a good clan if you command well.

Start up a LAN server and practice the hotkeys. Learn what all the hotkeys are so that they're instinctive. You shouldn't be looking at the keyboard to figure them out, you should automatically press the keys as you need to without much thought. Learn how to med effectively. Medpacking marines in combat is a trait few commanders have, but should always do. Learn to press the medpack icon that appears on the left side of the commanders HUD while simultaneously pressing e then s, and drop a medpack right beside the marine so that it actually hits the marine without him having to move to get it. This is the most powerful thing a commander has at his or her arsenal, and it's so rarely used that it upsets me. Once you've learned the hotkeys and how to medpack properly, you can start commanding. I suggest doing so on servers with 16 people or less, any more and you'll be overwhelmed as a new commander. Don't aim to win your first 20 games or so, simply learn how to manipulate the interface and how to get along with people, which is your #1 challenge as a public server commander: getting along with marines, earning their trust, and getting them to do things they don't want to do. No one normally wants to go around and cap resource nodes during a big fight, but many marines will if you ask them to by name.

While you're here, might want to trim that signature down a bit.

well just so you know the first things you put down are: ip's, Armory, and Rez towers and just go from there and upgrade what ever you can and just try as hard as you can to help your team win
