Solution to these Dead LInks and files, is to PM the author the model, creation or whatever it might be. Post on threads over 5 months old is probably NOT in your best interest, unless you want to get flamed.
Your best shot is Private Messaging the author and asking them to give it to you personally. Or you can get most of the old files at www.thrill2kill.com (No im not flaming, they have every file) Or ask Nsmodeling.com, Nsarmslab.com, Hivesight.com
So check the guidelines before reviving dead topics and giving everyone a heart attack! Use these guidlines if you OMG h4x HAVE to have them.
Well I pmed the author, if it's cool with him I'll give it a nice home on my website. At this point it's less about coherent statements and more about the fact that the last posts in the first three topics are mine!
Too bad you could make it so when you used alien flashlight you could see all of this, and turn it off and everything is back to default normal <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

hrm, it would be possible to do that with the flashlight business. If someone gives me the files to this, i would quite gladly host it. (i lost it in a format)

You know what I'm talking about. Your saying in your post that the job is so easy and that you could do it in a few minutes. You did the same on my shotgun shell thread. SO WHAT IF ITS EASY? It works! It looks good that is ALL THAT MATTERS. And I don't know who made you king of the forum.
And here is the link. Updated first post too. <a href='http://ss2-it.bulletfiles.com/download/trans_pack.zip' target='_blank'>Click here</a>
He was just saying that it isn't difficult to do that... And presenting an easy way to produce what that person is looking for <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Nothing wrong with that, and it definitely isn't trolling. (The shotgun shell thread might be, I haven't read it, but here, it is _not_)

2) i was telling cookie that he could recreate it faster than he could get someone to send him the files
3) i know it's about what looks good, i just thought it was retarded, as did alot of other people. I just say what i feel Daza, and maybe if you didnt say "no hosting of this file" on it even though it was nothing but the default... oh well.
*edit* thank you 23. And daza, if you have something to say to me, Do it in PM or on some other messaging service. I dont want these threads locked for our bickering
*edit 2* plus i actually would like having this model. not the resized shotgun shell.
wow, looks pretty cool. nice work Daza! oh and someone mentioned a "checkerboard" I'm pretty sure he meant putting a texture on, and then running a checkerborad of transperency OVER the texture, so you get that transparent/texture look. kinda like in the defult hive info sprite, before the hive is built
sweet!! thanks you!!! ^_^ da skulk look so kinda cute but skulks are natural not exactly cute -_- one dayu im gunna be a good moder!!! and ill put one of da zerg or alien skulks in der!! YAY!! can u beleive some people call me mentallyu reated just because my brain stops working when i look up att the skye!?!? ok thanks bye!!!
That's not a bad idea at all Shaz, I take it that it uses the same process with which transparent minimaps are made? Checkerboard of the transparency colour, = translucent wings! Gonna try it quickly!
*edit* although now that i think about it, perhaps the jin roh pack had a seperate texture for the wings and simply rendered it as additive? *edit2* hrm it does work! that's surprising, wonder how it looks in game...
*edit3* i'll keep playing with it - it looks okay in game, but its not the same sort of effect, the jin roh model must have used an additive texture...maybe i'll go into ms3d and make some uv maps.....
Well I made a new version of the egg in this thread. It's got a larger, deformed skulk covered in bacteria (mutating), internal textures in the egg, and transparent "panels" instead of the whole thing. All of the extra polies went into the internal section, since I carved the transparent and non-transparent outer shell so that it fit perfectly. It's 1,917 polies, which isn't too bad (you rarely see more then one egg at a time, except for maybe victory egging at the end of a game). Other than the carving and the internal texture bubble, it's almost the exact same egg here, so I'm asking for permission for releasage. Also, (perhaps more importantly) I need to know if anyone cares.
