I download the Beta5 ded and HLs ^^

I create a steam account, i did HldsUpdateTool.exe ns ns *** *** and try to run the server but they say me that the version is out and steam cannot list it.

I try to join with my other PC and they said the ded is using a 46 protocol and i need a 47.

Help me please

    <a href='ftp://hlserver:hlserver@ftp.valvesoftware.com/' target='_blank'>ftp://hlserver:hlserver@ftp.valvesoftware.com/</a>

Get the server there, download and install the valve game, then download and install ns to its directory.

    In server.cfg

    Make sure you have:

    hostname "Whatever name you want"
    sv_region 0
    sv_lan 0

That should make your server show up in steam. If it does not show up in steam, then it is a firewall issue.

    Give us some details on:

    Linux or Win32
    Connection Type
Server behind a router or NAT?

Sometimes when the server is behind a home cable or DSL router and a user is playing on a computer on that same network, it will not show up in the steam browser for that person even though it will show up for everyone else.

Whew! That was a long sentance.

I have a D-Link router... It's probably the problem, when i create, the IP that appear of the server is the network IP..

Try adding this to your command line and replace it with your actualy public IP address. For example, if you external IP was 208.28.184.222 then your command line option would look like this:

    +ip 208.28.184.222

Don't forget to forward ports in your D-link router.

See this great link for help using hlds and a router:

    <a href='http://www.ladt.us/servers/hldsrouter.htm' target='_blank'>http://www.ladt.us/servers/hldsrouter.htm</a>

Has about everything you need to do the job right, provided you are up to reading it and following along.

Also, on my lil router I have to use the LAN tab of the steam sever browser to connect to my server, even tho everyone else sees it via their internet tab. If I try and connect to it via the server internet tab, I get steam "ticket expired" messages. Give that a try.
