Mead: 'tis A Magical Drink!

Well today in my English Lit class we studied the Anglo-Saxon classic: "Beowulf". Truly wonderful if you enjoy prose. We also studied about "mead". For those who aren't in the know, mead is a type of honey wine that vikings drank, it is mentioned many times in their short stories and literature of all kinds.

I just thought I'd share this recipe with you all. I haven't made some yet but I think I will tomorrow maybe.

(Oh, it's virtually non-alcoholic because I can't drink alcohol at all; blood thinner; messes with my medication.) I'm sure a quick google will come up with some traditional mead for you.

Enjoy!

    Mead is utterly rank. It was served at our end of year party, Medieval-themed. Honestly, it was like drinking bleach, and I certainly couldn't taste any honey.

    Sadly I can't reccomend this beverage. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Tequila was apperantly drinking Ghetto Mead, not to be confused with Honey Mead which you can buy in many stores and tastes good as hell while getting you utterly trashed if you drink the whole bottle.

    I prefer Vodka, Scotch, Tequila, Beer. In that order.

    Also, I wouldn't put it past the establishment I dined at to serve horrible, cheap merchandise, so perhaps this recipe will remove the tarnish over the name of Mead.

    Sorry let me clarify by Vodka is first because I'm Russian, and Scotch is second because the only Scotch I have ever had has been 18 years or older.

    And the only Tequila I drink is Patron which oh so very good, not sure how you taste.......

    Also I think that recipe is for low/non-alcoholic mead not the standard kind they sell at stores.

    If you wanna try some crazy alcohol - check out Chartreuse (spelling).
    Tastes mildy of wild flowers, and the mixture is a tightly guarded secret (only 2 people know the full recipe at a time).

    Well there's a lot of god awful drinks out there. That's why I stick to vodka tonics at bars as most of their speciality drinks just give you heart burn and the drinks girls order for you make you want to vomit.

    Jager brings out the anger in me.

    Well not exactly anger, just my favorite pastime NakedPaintball. The naked comes on my friends part when they are oh so suggestive due to the effects of alcohol. The Paintball comes from my sadistic side while my friends doff their clothes.

    It's best when they are trashed enough not to remember how they got all those welts.
