EDIT: So I don't start an uncalled for flaming, my point was that nothing bad is happening to the rabbit apart from it possibly becoming a meal. The rabbit is leading a happy life, and when it gets killed and eaten it won't be any more a special case then the rabbit you can get at a resteraunt.

I dont see the difference between this and buying a rabbit at a pet store. You give him a small bit of money, the rabbit keeps living, if not, the rabbit dies. What do you think happens to unpayed-for animals across the country?

What really makes me angry is that he is essentially using the internet and loopholes in animal protection laws to exploit people's emotional reaction to the issue, and make money off of what is essentially human misery. This may be considered fraud, but I have no legal backing to really prove/say anything about that.
I hope he chokes on a rabbit bone and dies before he can use all his ill gotten cash.

Besides, there'd be nothing cruel about taking the rabbit to a butcher to have it changed into meat. Come on, it looks like he's taking good care of the rabbit, and raising livestock isn't crueltly (at least in a lawful sense, some may disagree from a moral standpoint). He'll take the rabbit to a butcher if he doesn't make the money, so the rabbit will also be killed humanely.
This just looks like some crazy scheme to get money for charity.
