Next Patch - Gun Recoil?

I just read this in another post. Some guy reckons the next update should have some degree of gun recoils and accuracy V movement.
Obviously the aim of this is to be realistic...but if this game were realistic we wouldn't be fighting aliens in outerspace...
What do you guys think?

    They didn't want to put recoil in. Apparently it just isn't fun in this game. I would probably agree.

    mmmm, plants (constructive, i know)

    realism really would suck in a game like this, its supposed to be fun immersive, adding as much realism as possible often detracts from these characteristics.

    Just look at cs. If you move your **obscenity** your aim goes to hell, if you jump hahaha don't expect to hit a wall 1m in front of you. Result? People sit there and camp....     The DEV team didn't add recoil because this is the future, there's no recoil anymore.

    Just check out some of the guns on the main site, pretty nifty thinking.

    no recoil gives the game more flow. Marines are not discouraged from moving around (walking into our traps).

    I would hate to have marines even MORE prone to camping, as it is now, we need to give the marines aimbots! it seems every marine strategy is like : OMG BUILD 102392139021 TURRETS IN TEH MAIn BASE! OMFG TEHY HAVE 3 HIVES! ALIENS ARE OVARPOWEURD!!

    They have guns now with no recoil. They use the recoil as energy to propel the bullet, I think.

    yeah, i played as marine (for the first time in a LONG time! gooo skulks!), and i was like "WTF! i can't see a thing!" that muzzle flash is INSANE. i'm surprised humans can hit ANYTHING.

    oh my god you noticed it too. now i know i'm not going crazy! when i fire my gun, i cannot see what the hell i'm shooting at because of that muzzle flash. it's really irritating. guys could you by any chance make the muzzle flash asterix shaped instead of circular in the next patch like the muzzle flash on the high definition machine gun in half life? or do anything else to make it so we can see what we are shooting at?

    i say if they ever want to implement "moving hurts accuracy" then they should make the view sway instead of having the randomization increase when we move. this is the reason i hate CS and stopped playing it. NS better not use CS's stupid retarded aim system or i will be mad <!--emo&:angry:--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/mad.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='mad.gif'><!--endemo--> and stop playing.

    Have you guy's noticed the spread from those gun's? It's like a 4 foot pattern! it's useless unless you are RIGHT on TOP of something, then you can kill it!

    yah the HMG spread is kinda ridiculous. i don't really feel satisfied when i kill something with it coz it doesn't take much skill. you just point in the general direction and fire. with friendly fire on it's really irritating coz i can't stop hitting friendly stuff as well.

    It's a machinegun, that's the point.

    but machine guns don't necessarily spread if you know how to use them.

    in American Army the amount of spread depends on the player's skill. in NS the spread is the same for everyone regardless of skill.

    It was already decided a long time ago that there was not gonna be any recoil. Period! Yeah the HMG has a large spread but its dmg is hindered by range. So if you shoot someone far away it'll probably do LMG dmg. Besides the HMG was meant for close to med range combat in NS. A Fade's acid rocket also has a large spread since it is a "rocket lancher." It's even!

    It has a place in DoD and CS (barf). But not here. SKulks are hard enough to hit as it is, without compensating for recoil. That would probably nerf the marines big time. So I'm relatively sure it won't be put in.

    Yeah, and what would they add next? Recoil for the lerk's spike shooter? A time limit between jumps? Bullets that shoot through walls? Headshots? Guns that heat up and do damage to you?

    The fact is, things like this would add NOTHING to the gameplay. It would only serve to make things more difficult, and, more importantly, more irritating for both sides. This is not a realism mod, there is nothing realistic about it, and it doesn't need realism to be fun. Far be it from me to speak for a dev, but I am almost positive that "realistic" gun effects will never make it into NS.

    That'd be awesome, of course they would have to add a visor model... Hey it the load screen the marines have a red visor over thier eyes. don't they?

    there is recoil in the game. why your bullets have a pattern. The LMG is something like a smg so you dont have much recoil the HMG is really heavy so thier ising much recoil eithier. Thier arent large maps either so you dont need weapons that fire high caliber bullets.

    No, it isn't at all. It's somewhat realistic, but there is an Unreal mod that is devoted to being realistic.

    And yes, please add goggles for the welder, that light is insane!

    And if recoil was ever added, you had BETTER up the damage of the guns.

    Recoil would be bad on this mod. You would see marines using the ak47 burst fire tactic all over the place.
    And the only thing that gives them some sort of chance at killing an alein is the fact they can do a full burst at what ever is eating them.

    About the only thing they would hit is a onos and well.. they don't stand a chance even if they do hit that bad buffalo.
