<div class="IPBDescription">have you seen it?</div> i opened my mozilla after my system had crashed, and it told me to update... i think nothing of it because i'm at mozilla.org (not my normal start page, so i thought it was something that my computer did... just like when i start mIRC...)

i click the upgrade, and POOF... no more book marks, no more passwords... nothing... i've got de-friggun-fault mozilla...

anyone know where my bookmarks are located and if i can recover them? i've re-downloaded and installed firefox.... but i don't want to have to re-do ALL my bookmarks again if i re-do mozilla....

<a href='http://backup.jasnapaka.com/' target='_blank'>MozBackup</a> is your friend. But it looks like its too late here... Look around on <a href='http://forums.mozillazine.org/index.php' target='_blank'>MozillaZine</a> you might find some answers.

Well, firefox still is considered in the beta stages so what you probably encountered was a bug of some type.

I did encounter this once too, but I did backups of my bookmarks cause XML bookmarks are cool and easy to access from anywhere (even IE!).

I don't know if your profile keeps a copy of your bookmarks, but if you're on Windows XP try c:\documents and settings\<username>\application data\phoenix\profiles\ or \mozilla\profiles. The folders in there contain your user data and the file "bookmarks.html" should contain your bookmark data. I am not really sure if the bug would have wiped it out, but good luck.

Actually... hmm.. if the upgrade is from 0.8 to 0.9, you should have uninstalled firefox before installing 0.9.

    c:\documents and settings\<username>\application data\

contains NO mozilla or phoenix/firbird folder....

it's gone... completely and utterly gone.... and it was closing mozilla that tweaked out my computer.... GG mozilla.

and i'm trying out firebird... and i'm sorry, but i love mozilla more... this one seems like a toy and i'm going to break it if i click too hard.

uhh, any reason why my 'quick launch' bookmark group is gone with 1.7.2.(some insane weird number) <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->?
