    i cant tell if your exagerating or being serious...
    well thats all true but it only blocks it if its entered into the console. "wait" ";" and "exec" all get blocked if binded to a key so, as crypt said, bind F1 "jointeamone; wait; exec bla.cfg" would be blocked as the variables are being executed.
    however something like alias joinone "jointeamone; wait; exec bla.cfg" bind f1 "joinone" would not get blocked as joinone is being executed and that has none of the banned stuff
    all of my scripts are aliased out and they all work on mp_blockscripts 1 servers perfectly...

    yes if you have something like
    <!--c1--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>CODE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='CODE'><!--ec1-->alias +3jump "+jump; wait; -jump; wait; +jump; wait; -jump; wait; +jump"
    alias -3jump "-jump"
    bind space +3jump<!--c2--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--ec2-->
    as long as the end of the + script has a +jump and the - script ends with -jump itll work for gliding

    Yes it would. Notice how it still says "alias"?

    The new mp_blockscripts blocks any command that repeats +attack or +jump, doesn't it?

    And by the same logic, scripts != hax.

    So why do most people get so worried about them? There are very few scripts out there that bestow any kind of "advantage", in fact, and those are so ridiculously flawed as to be a liability more than a boost.

    I think it was still in dicussion what commands/scripts mp_blockscripts will block in beta5. And I dont think voogru will tell it us before b5 is out, because of all the drama when it was announced last time

    is it possible to make a jump toggle? id find this incredibly useful since my clicking finger is used for mwheel while bhopping D:
  • Swift_IdiotSwift_Idiot Join Date: 2003-01-05 Member: 11883Members
    a jump toggle? Like having +jump permanently on? I don't think that can be done, from what I know, which isn't that much. I think the problem would be that you couldn't interupt the jumpspam to get actual commands in. I have a flashlight script that flashes it like a strobe light, but when I'm flashing the light over and over, I lose control of my guy because the flashlight impulse is being sent so many times, my direction buttons act like they are sticky. I think it would be the same for a jump toggle, if I hear you right.

    Plus I don't think you can set scripts to repeat. You used to, but they removed the command line for repeating or somethn.

    So you have to actually roll the mousewheel or press your 3jump button when you hit the ground, as per usual.

    My mousewheel has been used for bhop so long, it's wearing out.

    no dude, its a skill you learn its not part of the game.

    on the topic of bunny hop scripts. i never learned how to bunnyhop until ns came, and now i would say ive mastered it about 70 percent. but a few years ago i tried out an actual BUNNY HOP SCRIPT in counter strike. i dont know it if would work in cs, but basically it was bound to your mwheelup and mwheeldown key, mwheel up was jump and move left, and mwheel up was jump and move right and it worked almost flawlessly and enabled insanely good bunnyhopping speeds.
  • sejsej Join Date: 2003-01-19 Member: 12488Members
    No bhop scripts are avail that are actually useful - i wouldnt class threejump script as a bhscript as you still need to know the motion and some sort of timing.

    But there are other things which can automate bunnyhopping which i wont mentionin detail here.

    Personally i laff at ppl's ever going strive to get a good bunnyhop as if it would make them a good skulk/alien player, i can bunnyhop well but id say it was more of a use as a method of transport from one side of a map to another rather than something that actually helps kill rines. In fact on the marines i find it easier to kill skulks which bunnyhoop towards me than skulks who run in a straight line.

    this is like totally off topic, but i recently formatted and im trying to get a script back that exec'ed alien.cfg if i joined team two and rine.cfg if i joined team one. and for som eretarded reason

    bind f1 "jointeamone; exec rine.cfg"
    bind f2 "jointeamtwo; exec alien.cfg"

    doesnt work. i made a new cfg named userconfig.cfg and put that in there, then made a rine and alien.cfg and put it in there. what am i doing wrong?
