<div class="IPBDescription">Kicks ****!</div> Warriors of the Apocalypse mod, or WOTAMOD for short, is a total conversion for the Source (Half Life 2) engine. The setting of the game is a few decades after the final world war, which was brought about by a computer system malfunction. The computer blatantly attacked Soviet and American economies in an attempt to free the American people from virtual slavery under the order of Corporations. This resulted in total chaos and brought the world economy into the deepest depression in history. Russia and China (The Soviet Union) invaded Canada and other areas of North America, which prompted the US to defend its Canadian investments. The Equilibrium computer launched a large amount of assaults on the US corporations, the US Government, and even launched nuclear missiles at various targets all over the world. The Soviet Union followed suit. Long story short, civilization ended with the majority of the planet left in ruins. Not all of the world is radiated, but fallout from the key areas where nuclear weapons were used drifted all over the earth, resulting in widespread mutation of flora and fauna. New species are constantly being discovered.
WOTAMOD will not be a traditional First Person Shooter; it will feature an extensive, yet easy to operate Role Playing Game stats system that will have roots in most functions of the game. However, the player will not level up, and will not boost his skill levels in the traditional sense. Skills will gradually improve as they are used. Therefore, the player may simply "practice" his skills to make them "perfect".
In addition to an RPG stats system, players will also have the ability to equip various clothing, item, and gear in the Inventory/Equip screen. To equip an item, simply drag the item from your inventory to the character. Characters will wear base clothing, which will consist of boxer shorts. Any clothing equipped to the character will be equipped as sub-models. Some clothing/items/gear will not be equip able in conjunction with other items.
Another unique feature of WOTAMOD is the melee sword fighting system. Some weapons will allow you to guide your swings using the mouse. The weapons will be actual physics objects capable of colliding with other physics objects. This means you will be able to deflect or even block your enemy's swings, so long as your timing and movement is right. When you pull out a melee weapon that uses this system, moving your mouse will still use the "mouse look function". In order to engage "Swing" mode, you will hold left click. Mouse look sensitivity will be decreased so that you may swing easier in front of you, without having your character turn while swinging.

It isn't unique; Terminus-Discord (another HL2 mod) has a similar system.
