Flashlight Lags

and weapon lag test.
i notice that the spot that your flashlight illuminates, moves with delay. when you rotate the effect is instantaneous but when you walk around it is delayed. it seems your computer determines where to put the light spot by using your orientation that it takes from your computer and your position that it takes from the server. i noticed this problem happen in CS and SvenCoop also.

the laser pointer for the rocket launcher in half-life and Svencoop moves with delay when you rotate or walk around so the laser spot is determined server side and sent back to your computer or your computer calculates the laser spot's position using the servers position and orientation of you.

when i saw this weird flashlight behaviour i got scared that maybe the weapon code was screwed up too but you'll be pleased to know i tested it and it seems to be working correctly. i told a skulk to run around me in a circle while i shot directly at him and in front and behind him. it hit only when i aimed straight at him. then i told the skulk to stand still while i circled him and shot directly at him and a little to either side of him. it hit only when i aimed straight at him. anyway don't take my word for it. test it yourself. i realized afterwards that i might not have done the second test very well.

Have you ever played TS (The Specialist)?
They have the best and a realistic flashlight system.

When you turn on your flashlight - YOU DO NOT GLOW!!! Best flashlight system - EVER! -
Any chance of that happening for NS or some new type of night seeing option? Flashlights blow your cover, how about experimenting with NVG? Not sure how that would work, after seeing it on CS. I mean common, somewhere inside those marine helments has to be some kind of night vision system, not just a spec of light and making you glow like a housefire lol

Flashlights work both ways, much like tracers.

Marines dont need Night vision, maybe infra-red would fit in the game, but isnt motion tracking enough?
