Cant get it to work again..:/
Yesterday I tried to install the refreshrate override program(Found elsewhere on this forum) which basically messed my monitor up, so it went into protection mode whenever windows started(Bummer)

So, I decided to start in safe mode and reconfigure the little refreshprogram.. nothing helped.

This resulted in I reinstalled the drivers for the Wildcat card. This worked.. I could now get into windows(Porberly because it resetted my monitor refresh ratings)

Then I reinstalled directX9.0b just to be sure that directX knew of my card.

When I now try to start up half-life/NS an anoying alertbox tells me, that sofware mode will be used. Fair enough.
But the damn box keeps on coming up, so ill never actually get into the game.. Tried for about 50 times hitting return, but it seems to loop.

Ive search on google, 3Dlabs, planethalflife, NS forum and openGLs forum, with no hits on my wildcard..
I know that there is some info somewhere, because I got it to work before.

So... Does anyone know how to get a wildcat VP880 Pro to work with halflife/NS??

My specs is:
Windows 2000 with all upgrades/service packs
directX9.0b
soundblaster live! 1024(Which I just cant get to work with anything... the sound is there, but geee its bad)
512 mb ram

Ill have a 1.8 GhZ AMD athlon proccesor.. or so..

Umm; try setting up the video mode in launch options... right click and choose properties of half-life in play games window of steam... click launch options... enter -gl for opengl mode -d3d for directx mode... start NS... try both modes...

If it is not working... try installing your card's drivers after directx install...

Hmmm.. it worked when started with the -gl option..

    Though.... its very weird..

now I get a full screen mode which only covers 1/3(The middle) of the screen.

Think my windows video setting are FUBAR.. smells like a reinstall..:/

But nothing is wrong with the Wildcat running NS.

ok... If the ns game menu (where you choose servers or create lan game) and the game itself (once you connected to server) is both small try entering the screen resolution of your desktop manually via launch options...

For example if you are running at 1024x768 at desktop, enter the command below...

    -gl -w 1024 -h 768

    This should fix it...

Also if the menu screen is normal but the ingame screen is small, then it is either the opengl drivers fault (if screen is that cropped you cant see and text or hud icons there) or the ingame screen size setting is borked (you can see all the elements but it is much smaller)... You can try to install and test other drivers if any for the first one... For the second one there is a console command which allows you to increase screen size which I can not remember right now...

    WoW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok... the thing were I got the little screen in middle I solved by entering window mode and then back again.. so console command would have solved that.

The thing about width and height... AMAZING!!!! Actually the first FPS I ever got to run at that resolution..
