No, in that situation you keep the fades on hive defence because without those fades the hive goes down, and without the hive there's no point to taking out RTs because the game will be over thanks to ping of death.

You know, if the ONLY hive is under attack, and the soontobehive0 fade is across the map taking out rts, then he's a SMACKTARD.
If he wasnt a SMACKTARD, he'd wouldn't be doing SMACKTARDED things halfway across the map. He'd be at or near the hive, defending. Or he'd be rushing marine base as a last gasp distraction.
HE WOULD NOT BE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE MAP WHINING FOR DCS WHILE EVERY OTHER PLAYER IS GOING APE TRYING TO PROTECT THE HIVE.
If you log into a server, join aliens, and then proceed to mute the entire world, then that just makes you a SMACKTARD who doesn't know how to play NS. NS being a team game where players pool their strengths to win.
NOT a game where some "I R TEH LEET WALKER FADE" SMACKTARD goes AFK for 5 minutes, instantly evolves to fade, and proceeds to whine for DCS despite the fact HE'S SPENT MORE RES THAN ANYONE ELSE BECAUSE THEY'VE BEEN DROPPING RTS OR A HIVE TO WIN THE GAME.
Its mentally deficit players who THINK that killing ONE RT while the hive dies is a somehow constructive and essential act to NS.
Learn how to play NS properly please. I realise this may differ from some people's concepts where evidently if you die as a one hive fade with 1:0 K:D you've "won". It may be a shock but you win when it says "ALIENS HAVE WON THE GAME", accompanied by a cheerful WINNING tune.
The problem with most arguments against elecing certain rts that are guaranteed to be attacked shortly after contrcution is that they assume that the marines are uber-1337 killing machines, and the aliens suck.

First of all, I only see MT gotten in 1/10 games or so. Even then, its when the comm has a bunch of res and nothing to spend it on.
And I like electricity. It works fantastic on pubs, because theres rarely enough teamwork to get a gorge and skulk to take it down, and everyone that res **** to Fade just want to kill kill kill, not waste their time slashing a node.
Of course, playing against a team with any form of cooperation and that would all fall to hell. But hey, I like my electricity and my turrets.
