Comments
Go read the doom 3 minimum specs - if you can match them it'll run fine.
It'll play good based on frame rates when you run on low settings, but they strip the better content. I hope this'll help.
~edit it looks fine in low quality, just smaller screen size and no fancy shadows
(Ill sell you my GF4 Ti4200 that gets 60fps on my system on High@800x600 for 50 bucks)
Yeah seriously, I never dip below 40fps in firefights. 800x600@High
Runs with a bump here and there when I run 1600x1200 on High.
Looks like I'll be saving my money. Thanks..! Looking foward to Doom3, I hate watching scary movies, but scary games are a whole other story. Now, RE was too much for me... although I was like eight, that might effect something, but I love horror FPS. I've been looking for one for a flipping long time.
Still, I've got a PC gamer magazine that tells me what I should buy for the ultimate Doom3 experience. I'll aim for those.. but any suggestions here would help!
because I don't have it!! DUHHH

I'm "inheriting" an intel p4 2.4ghz [or whatever] CPU, 512 ram.. and i will buy a radeon 9800 pro 128mb... that should be fine, seeing as i wouldnt play with more than medium on 1024x768.. or maybe high if it can do it very solidly [in firefights as well]
=] I'm so happy.. it'll be the first good computer I've ever had... Well, this one wasn't too bad, when we got it about 4 years ago... It's a 600mhz geforce 2 mx 400, 256 mb ram.. mwuahaha
Of course, I averaged around 50% and got about 130th in the grade... So that's not boasting much But I plan to keep working at it [like, actually doing my homework and classwork] so I can get 80%, then 90%, then hover around 90%+.
I know there's a very good chance my already pitiful marks will decrease even further... So I'm going to set myself some base rules.
1 - No computer/games before 9pm on weekdays, and bed at 10:30pm.
2 - I can't join a clan.
3 - I can't start/join a mod team unless I already have intermediate skill and competency in the field(s) required! No learning C, 3ds max, texturing, sound, and hammer again, while organising and making a mod
4 - If I haven't finished my homework by 9pm on a weekday, I can't use the computer.
5 - On weekends, I can only stay up past midnight if I'm out socialising [never going to happen]. No computer!
Hehe.
GeForce 4 Ti4200 128DDR

Think im gonna put off buying a new mobo and HDD and upgrade the graphics card, another nVidia for me
