<b>
YOU GET STUCK </b>

OMG...here i am...we finally get 3 hives...i finally get onos...i finally get to their base...I take out 20 marines in 5 seconds...I run for cover....and..BAM IM STUCK...on what? NO IDEA...it seems everything in NS sucks me into the depths of THE STUCK....and what do I have to do? ahh..kill myself...gg

Everything is perfect...the new patch really rocks...makes playing aliens fun...the lag...who cares about lag....who cares about redemption on onos...who cares about siege turrets...I just want to play a full round without getting stuck on some horny wall that wants to get it on with me

When you get stuck on turrets, you can usually jump/crouch to get free, but sometimes you get stuck somewhere in the map and can't get out, you just have to learn to avoid those places

You shouldnt NEED to learn to avoid them. It's a pretty huge game error when random parts of the level will kill you by trapping you.

yep... biggest problem with onos are getting stuck...

Yea that does get quite annoying. Why I try to evolve near the front lines, with cloaking of course.

you can normally fix it by getting a gorg to drop a movement chamber right on you, but that's a hassle too.

easy fix would be a stuck command which would take your current position, and drop u on top. i'm sure it's not a big problem to code this in, the problem would be safeguarding it so it won't be an exploit.

maybe a 15 second limit or timer would work. or even 5 second countdown to the respawn, then a 1 minute refresh timer.

Also evolving to a skulk will sometimes unstick you.

I think the stuck thing is HL code problems more than NS's problems.

Onoses should have an "EMERGENCY HIVE TELEPORT" button that has some ridiculous requirement, like all your energy, some RP, and a 30 second warmup period. Getting stuck sucks, but I would definately pay any price to avoid having to kill myself and evolve into an onos again!

you have to remember that the model size of the onos is CONSIDERABLY larger than the rest of the models in any HL mod. The mappers did an AMAZING job on the maps and they pushed the HL engine to the limit in terms of mapping. They did their best to eliminate any sticky spots in the playtests but it's imposible to find every one all the time.

Sure, you shouldn't NEED to avoid them in an ideal world, but we don't live in an ideal world. Accept the fact that there are bugs that sometimes can't be fixed or are missed in playtesting. I've only gotten stuck maybe once or twice as onos because i've learned to avoid evolving to an onos in the areas that i might get stuck in. Evolve in wide passageways with easy access to enemy base.

redemption = good to live, bad cuz half the time it teleports me clipping into something <!--emo&--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/mad.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='mad.gif'><!--endemo-->

this is actually a great idea, i think a 30 second warmup plus all your energy (for the entire 30 seconds) plus maybe 15 RPs (it is late game...) and you could teleport back to the hive.

It couldnt' really be abused because in 30 seconds, you could RUN to the hive and not waste RPs or be defenceless. Maybe add the requirment of remaining still for those 30 seconds until it teleports you.

This is probably the best suggestion i've heard about onos stickage, no real way to exploit it with those restrictions, and probably faster than killing yourself/re-evolving.

What might work is allow you to move through alien structures when you're charging.
