    The aimpoint allows for constant target aquisition...and the other mag probably holds about 20 rounds. this makes it look like it holds more.

    EDIT: And I wouldn't want to model something exactly like something you modelled, that'd be copyright infringment.

    I dont see how you think it looks like crap. You know things dont have to always look spot on to the concept. I think it's quite nice. The part holding the front strap/grip could be done better, but that's about it.

    GJ funbagy

    i mean it looks mostly like the concept,, with a few exceptions.

    What's with the handle, magazine, and block on the front? O_o;;

    Handle- Its a strap, for added control, much like ones featured on MAC-10's

    Magazine- HiCAP Pistol mag. The bigger part near the bottom makes it a double wide mag instead of a single column of bullets, allowing for more.

    Block on the front- Ask foxtrot...personally I like front heavy guns, if youve ever shot a pistol, the heavier the front, the easier it is to aim. If its light, it shakes all over the place.

    edit: btw, bashh, i left it like that for 2 reasons.

    1. I think it looks ok...

    2. Even if it doesnt, it will be covered by a hand./

    Sorry, by handle I meant grip. It looks a bit...fat. As for the block on the front, I don't think it'll make enough of a difference personally. An automatic pistol is gonna be very difficult to control regardless.

    Perhaps if you changed the strap on the front for a solid handle it'd be easier to control ? You know like on the front of some SMGs they have that little handle (forget what its called now but sure it has a name <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif' /><!--endemo--> )

    it looked really bad when i stuck the solid hand grip on there. so the strap stays.

    the handle is not fat, trust me <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    It looks great. Complexity doesn't necessarily make a model worse. I like it.

    Except for the parts I dont like, it looks good!

    Even have the ejection port modeled, which is totally pointless, since it will NEVER be shown in-game lol <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Well, anyway, keep it up!

    And my modeling techniques? Eh.. That would probably be... Whats best?

    im just going to say one thing: proportions.

    the grip looks weird(may be the pic, i dunno) why is the body wider than the slide? that isnt normal, nor does look good. get rid of the cover on the front and model the whole slide(look at the pics he drew, there is no cover in the front) fix the lam, get rid of the aimpoint and replace it with something better, and also the click looks rather funny.

    aside from that, it looks pretty good, i believe if you fix those things this will be the next think everyone will be talking about. just needs a tiny bit of work

    <span style='color:white'>Snip.</span>

    EDIT: yea what Cookie sez

    anyways about the model:
    the gun itself is quite good, the concept was done fairly accurately
    the only few things that are problematic are the lower bits...
    -the block the strap is on looks awkward being the piece farthest out...and a bit wide too
    -the.....box thing around the trigger (not very familiar with guns or proper terms) seems a bit big....but that might be a choice you made, it just looks sorta odd to me
    -the biggest thing i'd say would be the (clip i assume it is?) just looks a bit weird dangling from the handle....i'd say lose the skinny part (that is whats making it awkward).....or atleast make it slightly wider? looks like a sausage link XD (j/k)

    and well....the gun looks a lil boxy, but thats not too much of a problem
    give it a nice skin and animation, and it'll be great ^_^

    EDIT (didnt wanna make another useless off-topic post):
    saying a model "sucks" "looks like crap" "ruins the concept" is not very friendly or nice.....and if you look, coil has rectified (is that the correct word to use? o.o) the problem of the sig...he has done his job properly i believe...i'm not sure how that was gonna ruin everyone's day tho...
    i could've sworn i saw something like (the below post) a month or two ago...yea well....see ya in October meph....

    oops well sorry, isaw in your profile you had the pic of a girl, so i kinda thought you were one <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo--> .

    the reason why he/she said it looks like crap is because the proportions are really messed up(i believe), nothing the ol' scaling tool cant fix. i'll be more than glad to help him out.

    Mephmage: apologies for the flames, but please keep your comments constructive or keep them to yourself.

    Everyone else: flaming and returning fire are no different from one another. All offending posts have been... archived for safe-keeping, but we *are* keeping score. Play nice, or don't play.

    Re: the model: I think a flaw in the concept is making the model look very boxy. The concept shows the grip with some contours to it for comfort, but in the head-on view the grip is square - uncomfortable. The wide magazine wouldn't fit in a thinner, contoured handle (and is very unlike standard SMG/MP/pistol magazines), and so doesn't look quite right. I would contour the grip and thin the magazine, personally.

    the grip IS skinny. If you look closeley, it grows to a double wide size near the bottom, allowing more rounds in the magazine.

    Also, there is a block covering the front half of the slide on the concept.. and my hand grip is extruded to make it more contoured, but the render doesnt allow for it to be seen. DIE BASHH. erm, <3

    anywho, ontopic, if you leave that strap, its either not gonna look right ingame, or be EXTREMELY hard to animate.

    Ok, i didnt deviate from the concept except for the bigger magazine. At all. Theres a huge block on the front of the slide.

    god......... you are blind.

    there is nothing covering the FRONT! THE FRONT DOESNT MEAN THE SIDES! THE BLOCK YOU SEE THARE IS ON THE SIDES NOT THE FRONT, YOU COVERED THE FRONT OS THE SLIDE FOR SOME REASON(you werent the only one tbh) AND THAT IS NOT HOW IT IS SUPOSED TO BE, AND IT LOOKS STUPID.THE BLOCK IS SUPPOSED TO BE A LAM, NOT A PLAIN BOX. REMOVE THE FACES COVERING THE FRONT OF THE SLIDE SO IT LOOKS LIKE THIS.
    <img src='http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v399/DamDSx/fox5.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
    if you didnt model them whole slide i recommend you do it now because the slide has to be animated. so does the hammer.
  • funbagsfunbags Join Date: 2003-06-08 Member: 17099Members
    Shut up, calm down, and don't tell me how to model my models, big boy. I'll leave it just how it is, and you'll like it. Or you won't, and don't have to download it. The hammer is modelled right, so as the animations can be done correctly, the slide isnt full for optomization, but its long enough so that it doesnt matter at all.
