Crashes

<div class="IPBDescription">Help pls</div> my NS crashes almost every time i play it... i currently also play TFC, but it doesn't crash at all, and neither did cs the last time... it always happens while i'm joining a server or if i type "disconnect" or "quit" in the console... i am not a n00b at HL (everyone's a n00b at NS, but i'm not at all a n00b at hl)... pls, any attempts to help would be greatly appreciated

    i'll add more detail...

    the screen looks the same and ambiance sound starts skipping (i don't know how it got there) but nothing happens when i do anything... when i push ctrl+alt+del nothing happens, when i push alt+tab nothing happens. if i push Esc once nothing happens, BUT when i push it twice i get this jumbled mix of colors on the screen, very weird...

    Mine is crashing too. At first I thought it was something besides NS that was causing the crash but it isn't. I can play CS/DOD as much as I want but when running NS my computer will hang between say 30 seconds and 5 minutes of playing. It doesn't show any signs, it just hangs as if there was something wrong with my computer but I really don't think that there is.

    it happens when i try to join more than one server... it happens upon map change... and if i try to leave a game it happens... it looks like a barcode across the top of the screen, green and in regular intervals. I can't do anything, i can't join the server, type, ctrl alt del, alt tab, or anything. If i push Esc once nothing happens, again and it scrambles the color and freezes the computer

    Hi all:
    I fix a lot of problems in my xp updating the board sound card to the lastest drivers. I think all you are using windows xp, becose in others systems the game dont crash at this cuotes. Update and good luck.

    I'm also getting crashes. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo--> It happens every twenty minutes to every hour and it results in my computer making weird sounds for a few seconds and then restarting. Other times about 1/2 seconds worth of sound will repeat itself over and over until XP shuts down Natural Selection. I'm running on a GeForce4, 1.8 GHz AMD, 1GB of ram, Windows XP Home edition and am playing NS in 1600x1200 in OpenGL.

    An unrelated thing is that I always see the marines with jetpacks now. I didn't for a time until the first time I saw someone using one. Now every time I see a marine, they're wearing a jetpack unless they are in heavy armor.
