    Thats what I thought, what with the BUS being delayed because XPCagey (the Mapping guru) leaving. But its already been announced so, probably not it.

    Onslaught - Would that be where the rines have 2 minutes to build up defences with say 400 res and after the limit is up they have to survive thousands of skulks charging at them for another 10 minutes or something? If not I want that mode called "Survival"

    Save the Colonists would be cool. Have like staff and crew from the space station being held captive in the hive area waiting to be taken back to a kharaa controlled world for food. Meanwhile the TSA go along the game as normal. The aliens would have a single hive, but if it was destroyed, would have an allotted time limit to restore it before losing. The TSA have to build a special phasegate that would be very expensive but also fragile, to avoid them from building it next to the colonists. The TSA would ahve to go in groups and grab the colonists one at a time and take them back to this special gate.

    At least that is how I can invision a fun game.

    Weld objective map... Aleins start with 3 hives and a fair bit of res nodes, and the marines only objecive is to weld some point on the map (maby start them with some turrets or something so their base doesn't get pwned right away...). You could make storines like 'weldpoint is airlock release' or 'weldpoint release jammed escape pods' or even 'weldpoint buys your team some beers'. It would be like the NS equivalent of starcraft's turret defence UMS's.

    Uhmmm, i see large numbers of suggestions for game modes that are to be the NS version of a Starcraft game mode. How about remebering that, as good as starcraft is/was, NS is NS and should remain NS by developing game modes that are unique to NS and explore the NS world, and maybe we should forget about starcraft and what's been done before, and try to make this the biggest game in the history of the world!

    There really isn't anything you can do with an RTS that Starcraft hasn't already done in at least one of thier UMS. The only other direction we can move is further into FPS style gameplay, but we already have combat, so it's not like more deathmatch is really nessicary. The only thing I can think of is to use combat's level system for RPG style, mission oreinted gameplay... and Starcraft has already done that too...

    now that would be kewl, but i rekon it would end up being a like seige fun maps.

    For those who are just so darn hilarious at pointing out the obvious. Of course my suggestion was like hostage rescue on CS. Save the Colonists was mentioned in the news update that started this post. I was diversifying upon it. And it's not like we haven't already gone CS with combat already. Anyways, Jezpuh and crew, keep on keeping on!

    One life per person would be really cool. It would force teamwork and people to stick together or keep spread apart. Maybe a part wher the skulks only xenocide, but have low amounts of health. They are taken out easily but if you let one by, it could be a disaster.

    Repair missions - where several parts of the ship have to be recaptured and repaired before a timelimit expires and the marines die of some kind of environmental toxin. The repair could be of a transport beacon to get the marines out or of an environmental system to let the marines continue to live and fight the infestation.

    "Reconquer the facility":
    Marines are dropt into the mission by some dropship and they have to fight there way to the cc. There they need to set up their base and and fortify it, and later recapture certain points of the facility sector by sector.

    I was thinking we could have almost any kind of scenario if we have a simple set of entities and some small changes to the ones we currently have.

    trigger_team_win: when triggered, team 1 or team 2 wins
    weapons_: a weapon that you can pick up (lmg, hmg, sg, gl..)
    item_: an item you can pick up (HA, JP..)
    team_lives: defines how many lives each player has on what team
    team_income: gives a team a rate at which they gain resources
    trigger_spawn: changes the location at which players would spawn (this could be used in some kind of territory advancement map where one team gets pushed back and back, some kind of option would have to be added into the team spawns such as a # that would correspond to the trigger_spawn)
    team_spawnrate: defines the spawn rate of a team
    team_res: defines how much res a team starts with
    info_gameplay (change): add an option so that commanders cannot build or drop equipment
    info_gameplay (change): add an option defining what level the aliens start at, and the cap (1 hive, 2 hives, 3 hives)
